I've been a fan of everything from thrash to folk.
I like Leslie Fish - especially an release called 'Firestorm: Songs of the Third World War'
here is my favorite - the Digwell Carol
-

It is the time of Digwell, now Summer's gone away.
People come from miles around to meet on Digwell day.
We all come here with mighty stones, with gravel, rocks, and sand,
Bring it here with oxcarts or with buckets in your hand.

 Chorus:
Pile high, pile high, the devil's underground.
Pile high, pile high, keep the devil down.

And bring you all your blighted crops and blighted beasts beside,
And coffins of this season's dead that of the blight have died.
Bring them to the mountain's top and fetch the boulders near,
'Tis fitting that the blighted dead should all be buried here.

So fetch the boulders, sand, and stones, and pile them deeply here.
We bury now the sorrows, sins, and bad luck of the year,
And when the mountain's higher by the mound we build today,
Then we shall feast and dance and sing this autumn night away.

For back in our forefathers' time, the devils ruled this land.
They made cruel wars and laws to rule the folks on every hand.
They spoiled the land and water, and they poisoned half the sky.
They cared for nothing but their power, though man and nature die.

In time the danger grew so fierce it threatened them as well,
And so they dug deep in the Earth and hid them safe in Hell.
They hoped to wait in comfort 'till the poisons wore away,
For then they could come out again and rule another day.

They hid themselves below the ground and left the people here,
Amid the blight that they had made and even they must fear,
But still the people stayed alive, and well they promised then
That all the devils hid in Hell would never rule again.

And so our fathers hunted 'til they found the secret gate,
And there they piled the boulders high above where devils wait,
And thus we've ever after done these many years and more,
So now our manmade mountain stands above their exit door.

Pile high, pile high, the devil's underground, oh,
Pile high, pile high, keep the devil down

Every time I hear Johnny Cash sing this Trent Rezno song I break down and bawl.

1) It's a great song and
2) Johnny does a great job!

Alright so you guy's like later Cash huh?

This song just make's you feel like a bad ass....

That slight crossover that Cash did in the end from country to rock is no more apparent then in this song. His "rusty cage".

I couldn't let my self post the official video to this one it's just too horrible.

And finally we all know it and love it...

Ok here's a song you guy's might not have heard of before.

Corb Lund - Getting Down On The Mountain

Same thing on his site: http://corblund.com/media/gettin-down-on-the-mountain/

When the oil stops, everything stops, nothing left in the fountain
Nobody wants paper money son, so you just well stop countin'
Can you break the horse, can you light the fire, what's that I beg your pardon
You best start thinking where food comes from and I hope you tend a good garden

Getting down on the mountain, getting down on the mountain
Dont wanna be around when the shit goes down
I'll be gettin on down the mountain

When the truck dont run, the bread dont come , have a hard time finding petrol
Water aint runnin in the city no more do hold any precious metal
Can you gut the fish, can you read the sky, whats that about over crowdin'
You ever seen a man who's kids aint ate for 17 days and countin'

Getting down on the mountain, getting down on the moutain
Don't wanna be around when the shit goes down
I'll be gettin' on down the mountain
solo
There aint no heat and the powers gone out, It's kerosene lamps and candles
The roads are blocked its all grid locked, you got a short wave handle
Can you track the dear , can you dig the well, couldn't quite hear your answer
I think I see a rip in the social fabric, brother can you spare some ammo

Getting down on the mountain, getting down on the moutain
Don't wanna be around when the shit goes down
Gettin on down the mountain
Solo
When the oil stops, everything stops, nothing left in the fountain
Nobody wants paper money son, so you just well stop countin'
Can you break the horse, can you light the fire, whats that I beg your pardon
I think I see a rip in the social fabric; brother can you pass the ammo

Getting down on the mountain, getting down on the mountain
Dont wanna be around when the shit goes down
Gettin on down the mountain x2

Before I forget, is there perhaps a way to not imbed a video on a post? when ever i open this page or any other with multiple video my browser starts lagging, and while embedding is nice it's not necessary.

I can trace my entire love of comedy to watching Monty Python as a kid and reading the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. It taught me that those awkward unscripted moments with strangers is the what makes life worth living (or at least bearable). And it only happens with those we don't know, because you and him/her don't know how they are "supposed" to act. They become like an actor without line. Off scrip anything can happen.

True story.... About ten years back, while on a liquid diet binge, I roasted 2 different stereo amps (back to back) with this one:

Drink To The Dead - Clutch (Lyrics in the Description) (Embedding disabled, limit reached)

"Drink to the Dead" ~ Clutch

Quote
If knee-deep in cat nip
At the old icebox
I recommend you whistle
And give the box three knocks
Should you be so lucky
To hear whisperin'
It is an invitation
For you to leap in

May you go marching in three measure time
Dressed up as asses, drunk to the nines
Swing from the rafters
Shouting those songs
Gone unsung for far too long

If boxing your shadow
At the wall full of moss
And antlers approach you
Then I am at a loss

May you go marching in three measure time
Dressed up as asses, drunk to the nines
Swing from the rafters
Shouting those songs
Gone unsung for far too long

Drink to the dead all you still alive
We shall join them in good time
Should you go crossin' that silvery brook
It's best to leap before you look

Surrounded by toadstools
At the old green glen
I'm afraid there is little
That I can recommend
Save all of your courage
And sincere prayer
And where you go-a treadin'
Take the utmost care

So let us
Drink to the dead all you still alive
We shall join them in good time
Should you go crossin' that silvery brook
It's best to leap before you look
"It wouldn't do any good.  I've had the shit beat out of me a lot of times.  I just replenish with more shit."  - Billy McBride
