Might be a few weeks for me.  Its opening here at a Regal Cinema.  But I can wait a couple of weeks and it will be at the discount theater where I can go see it for $3.

I plan on that viewing and I will post a comment.

Hoping to see it at an IMAX theater in Knoxville this week, if I feel up to it.

Okay, MrsMac and I watched the movie this night through Prime. First, I liked it.

It was a basic scrip of journalists being the eyes of the audience of traveling from New York to D.C. via Pittsburg, West Virginia, Virginia and then DC. Along the way through the journalists lenses we saw revenge, purification of the race, greed, normalcy, and compassion.

There is a lot of talk that the movie had a anti-MAGA slant. MrsMac and I did not see that at all. What we saw was a Civil War pure and simple between differing factions none more above or lesser than other factions.

I recommend folks watch and decide if this is what we want as a country or not because we are certainly marching towards that result.

IMO, the best scene was the sniper and his spotter trying to take out another sniper. One of the journalists asks something to the tune are they from this faction or that faction. The spotter responds, who cares, they are shooting at us. This one scene says it all.

I saw it a week or so ago.  Been thinking about it.

Summary-- bunch of disjointed scenes of a news crew traveling from NY to DC to interview the President, indicating areas involved in more resistance than revolution until they got to Charlottesville.  The news pepole had no real plan of how they would get any contact or any Q/A with the president.  The also indicated fear of being shot just for asking to interview the Prez.

No info on what was in dispute and with FL, CA and TX being the main resistors.  That group would have little in common overall regarding politics.

The only indication of any reason for the disputes and resistance is the new president was sworn in to a Third term.

Note Trump has made a comment on that.  Getting a 3rd to make up for the first one he was of due to the investigations, covid, and myriad of other things.

Glad I got it for a $3 admission.  It was not really worth much more and overprice for a $10 viewing.

Nemo: I'm confused. Uhhh..... Is it possible that somebody making the movie doesn't know that Charlottesville is not located between NY and DC? From what I've been hearing about the movie, it makes very little sense and there is no possible way that a Civil War 2 could or would play out the way they portray it. :faint: Screw them. I'm not going to watch it. :coffeeNews:

There were questions about getting down 95 due to govt checkpoints and controls, fallen down bridges and other government controls and swinging way out west to get there was the only reasonable route that had chances of success.

Get it pm DVD at a RedBox or Hulu or such.

Put a Plexiglas screen between you and the TV so thrown items do not damage the TV.

As I generally do during presidential debates.

Screened the dystopian opus last night... gotta say the soundtrack music was... different.   Last song playing during rolling credits a wee bit on the haunting side.   May have go find and buy it.

As for choosing whether or not "is this the America we want", driving towards it as we seem to be...
I don't believe any of us is driving anything towards it as much as we are being driven.    And the truth is splashed in our faces with every clip showing senile Joe B humiliating us on the world stage... money talks, bullshit walks and the general American populace is definitely on foot here.
History tells the struggle of peoples warring - tribe against tribe, nation against nation.
But novel history is now in the making, a Brave New World sprouting - a history not of tribes or nation states in conflict but of a globalist "elite" cabal against all of the rest of us - old boundaries no longer mean what they used to.
In my scenario, America's "middle class" is one of the last impediments left for globalist, trans-national power grabbers to fear.    A middle classes' economic and cultural corpus is a counterweight against totalitarianism.   And as such is targeted - it's destruction a clear goal of the people who put an unknown, unaccomplished mulatto nobody into the White House and arranged that his team would continue orchestrating our demise through their puppet Joe B. in a "3rd term".

Will we experience analogs of this movie (_and_ "Leaving the World Behind") in our lifetimes?
Certainly - unless ones passes within the next very few months or years they will have a front row seat.    And this, because the powers-that-be have ordained such and have the resources and demented ability to _make_ it so.
What comes after?
My guess?  ...the plan is for a new feudalism to be constituted.   Where you will own nothing, eat bugs and be happy.

I prep to provide succor for those who must survive to keep the spark of freedom in their hearts - against the day when the coming long Winter will see another Spring.     Copies of our Bill of Rights and Constitution will survive, becoming a whack-a-mole, cat's-out-of-the-bag rally point.   A spark as eternal as the longing for freedom and justice in the human heart.

From an  "Extremist", "Hater"... Mike Vanderboegh

? "This is no small thing, to restore a republic after it has fallen into corruption. I have studied history for years and I cannot recall it ever happening. It may be that our task is impossible. Yet, if we do not try then how will we know it can?t be done? And if we do not try, it most certainly won?t be done. The Founders? Republic, and the larger war for western civilization, will be lost.
But I tell you this: We will not go gently into that bloody collectivist good night. Indeed, we will make with our defiance such a sound as ALL history from that day forward will be forced to note, even if they despise us in the writing of it.
And when we are gone, the scattered, free survivors hiding in the ruins of our once-great republic will sing of our deeds in forbidden songs, tending the flickering flame of individual liberty until it bursts forth again, as it must, generations later. We will live forever, like the Spartans at Thermopylae, in sacred memory."
