Am I going crazy or what?

 I read Alas Babylon a couple of years ago and right now I'm reading One Second After. I up to chapter five and it seems I read this story before.
Are the first chapters an almost copy of Alas Babylon from the truck driver to the cut hand and the chopper flying over. Or have I read this book before and don't remember reading it?   :faint:
 Another thought is all writers believe that this is exactly how life at the beginning of an EMP will be.  :frustration:

Authors are first and foremost business people with a product to sell.
Forstchen is no different.  He basically put the EMP committee's findings into a narrative. 
I do the same thing when brainstorming a problem.  - i'm just not marketable :)

@KBOP I understand that. What i was getting at is I haven't bought this book before but it seems I read it before. I loaned out my Alas Babylon book and it hasn't been returned so I can't compare the two books to each other. Is the story the same or are the events the same that it appears a copy.

  At one point I was a voracious reader reading 40 books a year mostly history but it is possible that I added stories together to get this feeling.

I think there is a great deal of assumption and myth around in relation to the effects of an EMP and CME event.

Unfortunately there is not a great deal of scientific data out there available for the average prepper to make plans from.

Authors need to have story lines that have the best effect on the reader to keep the story exciting.

I wish there was some solid info to base plans on.

Having read both books I did however enjoy the read. There are items in the plots of both that in my opinion offer words for thought for the prepper.

The Going Home series of books by A. American are also entertaining.

that makes sense - they can blur together after awhile.
