I've decided I need to do some prepping research and I stumbled upon you guys. I do believe I have a TON to learn from the few threads I've skimmed through.
Here's my run down:
I'm 28
A fire fighter
I live in commifornia
I'm a avid hunter
I'm a avid mechanic
I'm a gun enthusiast.
I'm lookin forward to learning as much as I can from everybody here that's willing to teach me!

Welcome to UP!!! You'll find that we are more relaxed and receptive than some other prepper forums. ;) ;)

What part of CA? Exact adress is preferred. Current satellite images a plus.

Greetings and Salutations Good Sir. Do yourself a favor. Transfer to a dept in the US and not in that foreign country.
:sarcasm: ---> But do not move to Georgia. You know, that place that will turn into the wild west due to that extreme new law that lets people carry gun about everywhere they want. Just think, on a college campus or in a church. On a Sunday for that matter. Or a Library! Or government building if they do not have security screening at the door. Where you do not need fingerprinted for a CCW permit renewal. We will just go crazy here the gun control freaks are telling us.
I am a relative newbie here and you can learn a crapton more than you ever thought possible here.
Welcome.

Thank you SK! Glad to hear that!

I'm near the center but about 45 miles east of 60 miles south of the 50 mile mile mark of the palm tree and pine tree. Lol

Welcome to the neighborhood.

Welcome Rowdy1!
Albeit a small prepper neighborhood, a great group of gals & guys here. Some have been prepping since the Moses lead his people out of Egypt while others have only recently had their tiny bottoms slapped in a delivery room.
We are also lucky to have folks from faraway lands who bring such a great group of skills and perspectives to the table.
Have fun!

Welcome.
I would fall under the "folks from faraway lands" category mentioned earlier.
Fire fighting and mechanical are definitely two valuable skills and all the fire fighters I know are as fit as horses which is an incredibly important prep (one I'm afraid I've been slacking on for a while.
I have to say that after a rather short time here on UP I've learnt a crap load and it's definitely one of the least insane prep communities I've been a part of so I hope you have a good experience here with us.
-
Wow Digi, that's one of the best complements you could have given us! We have always tried to keep it sane.
We got guys from all walks of life and all manner of life experiences here so the advice you get isn't all in the same vein which really helps you formulate your own answer. Its a good thing.

thedigininja, Thanks  Ditto what ThatGuy wrote. :fuckYeah:

That is actually quite a nice compliment ninja, thanks.
I think we all do our best to keep the forum real, practical, and coherent as much as possible.

Whispers I dont think he knows about the tin foil hat section. . . or that one time the Channing Tatum picture thread was proposed.

I did say LEAST INSANE, not completely without quirks :gasMask:

Channing Tatum... Soo dreamy...
-
Btw Digi, in the interest of making it fun we will on occasion say things like 'or the one time we proposed the Channing Tatum picture thread' or post a picture of a ridiculous emoticon and comment on how dreamy someone is.. For fun
-
Well you definitely succeeded in finding a truly ridiculous emoticon. :bravo:
