Marine Corps Vet, Current NG Medic. Found this through a blog I follow. Looking forward to learning new things from everyone and maybe even teach you guys a few things along the way.

Hi, I'm glad you joined the group. Your being a Medic reminded me that we rarely discuss medical prepping needs. Since I'm Old, I have augmented my prepping with Medical help. I got my Doctor interested in beginning prepping by giving him a loaded basic Bug Out Bag, two pre-programmed Handi-talkies, and a couple of ounces of .999 fine Silver and I got his Home Phone Number in case of an emergency. I have a separate Medical Emergency stash with a Stethascope, Finger Clip Oximeter, Surgical Clamps, Blood Pressure Cuff, Lots of various bandages and Medications and clotting powder, Biohazard suits, Gas Masks with extra filters, Potassium Iodide pills and a good Geiger Counter. I also loaded up with 90% alcohol, Hydrogen Peroxide, and some Witchhazel. Now that you're here, we probably should have more threads about medical emergency issues. Lately, we seem to be stuck on politics and a different subject would be welcomed.

Good group of eclectic folks with all levels of preparedness so don't hesitate to jump in if you know an answer to a question, ask a question, or wish to share a life experience. Also don't forget to check out the archives. Plenty of great stuff there.

I have been meaning to do some videos for my blog so I could probably cross post them here. I’d be more than willing to share medical information.
I would recommend everyone go to bleedingcontrol.org and find a bleeding control class near them! They are completely free! Most of my medical knowledge is trauma based but I am trying to learn more about preventive care.

There might not be a class available. Talk to local EMS, Emergency Management, or even a local trauma center. They might be able to help you out. Try and get as many people together for a class as you can. Most like to do about 10 at a time.
