RB, you mean to tell be that you do not have a OTP machine?

Just joking...OTP is a great way to send and receive messages as there is no freaken way to decode them. Add to a OTP a Brevity code, and you are set. NOBODY will know what you are talking about except for the receiving radio (s).

This is why digital ham radio is so important. Send a OTP that when deciphered leads you to a Brevity Code  Even the NSA with all of their bells and whistles will draw up blank.

Now with that written, it is a violation of the FFC to transmit any coded or encrypted message over the airwaves. The NSA who records EVERYTHING does not like encrypted messages ESPECIALLY OTP.  :troutSlap:

Now with that written, if you send a digital message using a fast mode, the receiving station just has to record the message, slow it down, and decipher it at their leisure. There is no way to DF you if you send a 30-second message and send messages from a new location all the time. Wait until a regularly scheduled radio program ends, e.g. Voice of America, Cuban Voice of Freedom, BBC, etc. to send your message and most folks will think that the radio station that just signed off added a "tag line" at the end of the program.

I have even heard of people who use a program like FLdigi that they download to a burner phone and use a simple HF radio like the truSDX or other small QRP radio's that operate at 10-Watts or less to send their messages.

Great stuff RB. Anything else you would like to know about OTP?  ;)

Only impossible to decipher if ALL of the necessary steps are taken, such as the key being long enough and actually random. And any transmission longer than a second or two can be located. Only way to beat that is to use spread-spectrum or freq-hopping radios that use a fairly complex scheme that is constantly changed.

Johnny is right on the money with the FCC reg about all messages originating within the US being in plain English. I have developed a code that does exactly what the rules call for and it completely confounds anyone who doesn't understand my very simple method. I'm not going to post anything here about how it works because Big Brother monitors everything on the internet concerning Prepping.

Unless you've independently invented quantum encryption, it can and will be broken. You're going up against the best cryptographers in the world, who are armed with the best supercomputers in the world.

Messages do not have to be in English. The rule (not law, rule) reads:

? 97.113 Prohibited transmissions.

(a) No amateur station shall transmit:
...
(4) Music using a phone emission except as specifically provided elsewhere in this section; communications intended to facilitate a criminal act; messages encoded for the purpose of obscuring their meaning, except as otherwise provided herein; obscene or indecent words or language; or false or deceptive messages, signals or identification.
