We Bought a Car
« on: April 30, 2021, 11:16:00 PM »
I'm getting too old. The wife and I have been saving up for a pretty good while for emergencies and we got to thinking that we probably should buy a newer Car since they are going to be way too expensive when Hyper-Inflation hits. Any way we went looking for a used car but newer than what already have. We focused on either a Toyota or a Honda. Well we ended up with 2012 Honda Acura. What the Hell????? It took me 20 minutes to figure out how to operate the Tilt Steering wheel and about 15 minutes to turn the head lights from low beam to high beam. Then I decided to see how the radio sounded and it told me to ENTER CODE. I said well screw that so I tried to set the clock to the correct time and it told me to ENTER CODE. I'm thinking the car will be worn out before I ever figure out how to operate it.

WOW! Congratulations goes out to you and MrsPKv!!!

My hat is off to you in buying a used car. After buying MrsMac's Subaru and my Exploder, I will never buy a new car or truck again.

Like you, all the new gadgets on these vehicles are enough to make you feel like a dummy. On the way home from the dealer with my Exploder, it kept beeping at me as I drove down the road. I finally figured out if I stayed perfectly in between the lines the damn beeping would not happen.

Once home, I opened up the owners guide and figured out how to turn off the system that would scold me for not driving in the center of the road.

Again, congratulations!

Congratulations on the new car PK!

Johny, our "new" car has a similar feature, and it can automatically correct the car too.  I turned it off, as I can see how it can cause accidents.

Tonight, I went out to the car and opened the door and the interior lights didn't come on. I climbed in and looked all around and found the control for it and they were in the OFF position. I had a choice of OFF, ON, and DOOR. I set it to DOOR and now when I open the door they come on. It took about 3 or 4 minutes to find the controls and set it like I want it. I think its going to take a while before I figure it all out. I've found some instructions on how to find the code numbers to get the Radio to work but maybe I'll try it tomorrow.
