My wife and I have agreed on that also.
We have also worked on the idea that a bad guy grabs one of us with a knive or weapon pointed at us who is being held hostage/shield with bad guy screaming drop your gun or I shoot them. Our reply to the bad guy is-- he/she gets hurt, you get killed. Doing absolute best to try to maintain sight picture and breath control.
We have practiced that if bad guy starts to point their weapon at the non-hostage, the hostage grabs the wrist/gun of the bad guy and tries to lean/bend/slouch/drop to present a bigger not blocked target.
We have also practiced that if the gun still stays on the hostage to tilt/turn/lean/lower as much as possible to expose more target to shooter.
It amazing who much you extra target you can expose with just a bit of lean or twist. A bit of practice and prior thinking and preparation of this idea can give you some amazing marksmanship.
