I would think that on a video like the BOB one it would be better to have a front man and then edit what makes Ken's different and then Nola's and so on and so forth.

Something like this,

TG: And now were are going to Kentactic so he can tell you about what he has done differently.

KT: Thanks TG, as you can see I don't carry a blah blah blah because of blah blah blah

TG: Thanks Kentactic, now were are going to go all the way across the country and talk with Frosty Ghost about blah blah blah

Master Mac, in this day and age you need to be running at least a 1080dpi camera so you can offer that high def video. There are tons of makes and models out there and they have been that good for a long enough time now that you can pick them up for a song at flea markets and garage sales.

Just a word of advise though, look for one that stores the video on a memory card or build in memory because buying disks sucks!!

Oh and no glue.

ok I can certainly get on board with that. I suppose having multiple BOB vids from different people would get kind of old and repetitive. I never thought of editing everyone's individual videos together. that's a pretty badass idea.

Good way to cover multiple terrain, environment, and use setups as well as individual expected threat level.

Gives the viewer kind of a buffet and should help limit some arguing due to the above mentioned differences.

I would totally be the editor, but I'll be honest, I kind of suck at video editing, and the software I use, sucks even worse.

I need to buy some real video editing software at some point, when I have the money.

I have no idea, but I'll start researching.  I bet some fairly good software can be had for little money.

Right now, I've got free Windows Live Movie Maker.  It sucks, or either my computer sucks.  I haven't figured out which one yet.

If its my computer that sucks, no amount of good software is going to help.

Anybody care to look at my computer, or ask me the right questions, or help me figure out if its my hardware that's the problem, or the software that is the problem.

If its the software, then buying some better software would help, if its the hardware, well I'll have to buy some upgrades for my laptop.

Can anybody here help me, or point me to a place where someone can help me?  I'm looking for free advice here as well.

I need to find out if its my laptop that's the problem or if its the free software I'm using.

If it something like buying an upgraded memory card, I've done that before, and I know how to install it, I installed them on my old work computer a few years ago.  Just let me know what I can do.

I'm here to help.  I'll gladly be the video editor, if ya'll are ok with it, and approve of the job I'm doing.

hey what software do you want to edit the videos?
Why instead of buying it, you get... an evaluation version ;)

EDIT:
Also you can try this freeware http://www.lightworksbeta.com/

Here is a list of several tools, some free, some paid, some offer trial versions
http://www.squidoo.com/videotools

A key point is to learn to use the software, you can get a professional editing tool but then you need to know how to use it.
If you like a paid one, drop me a line and I can look for it so you can test it

How fast do you want to be pumping out these videos?

Depends, even short videos can take awhile.
What are you looking to do and what kind of files would you be able to send?

I think there are a lot of very good ideas being put out here. I think that the idea of the front man appearing professional is a must. No foul language and such. One thing I was thinking, is that with Informative shows like News, documentaries, gun shows on the Outdoor Channel, etc. They have a pretty woman as a co-host. Hear me out. While yes, a pretty woman does get attention, (a plus) The guy should be a man's man type who knows his S#@t. The woman, while attractive, should also be someone that knows Her s#@t. A strong, smart woman that women like watching also. One that can go from carrying a BOB up a hillside, to canning deer meat. Also showing prepping from a woman's point of view. They could bounce ideas, comments and views back and forth. One could be talking while the other one is demonstrating something, or together demonstrate something that takes a couple of people. Just my .02!

I'll be happy to use my free version of Windows Live Movie Maker to attempt to edit these videos.

If the computer or software fails to the point where I can't edit them, I'll let you guys know, and we'll find out a fix, or I'll pass the torch to someone else.

I've now edited a few videos on my channel using it.

Here is an example of the type of woman to use for a co-host. Just sayin! And she has great software for videos and knows something about video production. Also, it sounds like she's open to doing something besides her regular YT channel. Who knows?

The clock it ticking Skippy.
The reason I ask is because I'm currently going to school for film production, I'm well versed in Final Cut Pro X and have access to it on my personal macbook pro.  I'd be able to help out with the video editing, but I don't have the time to be pumping out weekly videos.  If this is going to be on an "every-once-in-a-while" basis then maybe we can work something out.
