Title: Unemployed Again
Post by: JohnyMac on August 28, 2012, 06:05:00 PM
Well after a fun seven month run I am out of a job again starting Friday.

My friend who hired me to help him get his company back up and running sold it August 1. The new owner (Rightfully so) does not need me.

My accomplishment these past months have been:

> Wrote a Procedure & Policy Manual (The second one in my career I have written - They ain't fun to write),
> Opened up and additional five stores,
> Turned sales around to the point that stores are not loosing money and many have a pretty good bottom-line contribution,
> Helped negotiate a $2M deal with BP oil,
> Helped transfer half of the stores over to franchise locations and,
> A few other things of lesser importance.

So if you know of anybody who might want a business manager let them know about old JohnyMac.  :)

I guess I will go back working on the cabin and focusing on the up and coming hunting season.  [url=http://www.freesmileys.or

Sorry to hear JM. Why exactly did they fire you even if your friend sold the company? Sounds like you would've been a real asset to the new owner.

Thx guys.

The new owner's offices are in Chicago. I made it clear I wasn't going to move to IL. So its my fault not the new owner.  :))

I will figure it out. One door shuts and another one opens.

Nice accomplishments.  I wrote a complete Procedures and Policy Manual as a Business Manager before.  You're correct, they are not fun to write is an understatement.  Don't worry, though, we're in the same boat.  You can always do something productive with your unemployed time, like you said, or try to start a small business.  Use your imagination.

Hey Goodnight.

I was telecommuting from RI and or PA. I only spent 2 weeks out of the month in NY. Stayed at a ratty hotel BUT it did have a lounge and the bar maids were friendly.  :))
