Uh Oh Some thing odd is happening
« on: November 08, 2021, 08:50:09 AM »
Yesterday, the wife and I went to town to get a few things. When we got about 4 miles from home, I told the wife that I was going to stop for Gas. Hmmmmm........ You could buy all the gas you wanted but you couldn't use a credit card. No big deal for me because I'm a cash type person anyway because I'm opposed to digital currency. Well, that's odd because the only time I use my credit card is at that gas station and for AMAZON purchases. Well this morning I went down to the Truck Stop, 2 miles away, to get my daily Coffee and they had a sign on the door that said they couldn't accept Credit Cards. Hmmmm...... Things are looking stranger and stranger. Did somebody get hacked or is this just a tactic to keep people off balance. When I was working, I was in management and learned that there were 4 or 5 managemnt techniques that big businesses use. One of those techniques is to keep the people OFF BALANCE by constantly changing the rules and procedeures. Is this one of those techniques to keep the Dumb Masses in line by keeping us guessing? I'll listen to the Daily Bullshit on TV today and see if they mention the credit card thing.

Gee PK, did you ask at either location why they're implementing the cash only policy?  There might be good reasons why they're only accepting cash.  I've seen that happen when there's an internet outage.  As Ian Fleming wrote, "Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times is enemy action."

Mmmmm. Interesting.

Like Jackalope wrote, when this happens always ask why. It could be something simple like the internet is down.

Last week, I went to my small town to buy a few things and the three stores I was going to buy things from there were signs up that said, "Cash Only". It was due to the stores credit card service was down not the internet, just the banks card service.

Last week I couldn't use my card at the machine, I had to go inside and let the teller run it for me. She said all the card readers on the machines were down

I would worry if it was either a whole area that was out, or if there were spotty outages nationwide. Most of the card readers I come across are barely functioning on a good day. And the card processors get a slice of every transaction. Good work if you can get it.  ::)

Crap! I was trying to post a comment and just before I finished it crashed. OK, I'll try to remember what I wrote. The wife and I went to the bank today and got some money. No, we didn't get a loan. I mentioned the gas stations credit card machines not working. The bank said that they weren't having a problem but the Gas stations have their own system and that';s why it was only s=howing up at the gas stations. Then we went to eat at Outback Steakhouse(just bragging). Then we went to buy more cigarettes for our stash. Several months ago they cost about $50 a carton, then the next time they were about $55 a carton, today they were about $57 a carton. I'm glad we have a good size stash because this beginning of Hyper-inflation is starting to get serious. I truly believe that by next year, which is only 2 months away, they will will be pushing $70 or more per carton. Ha, and I thought Physical Silver was a good investment. All its going to take to make smokes super valuable is for the supply to become limited and/or the prices to go crazy. We are old and even if we don't smoke them all before we pass on, the kids will get rich just selling off what's left.
