We attended a 15+ Thanksgiving feast at our neighbors pub near the cabin.

I brined the turkey which was great and one of the guests brought a ham. I made a pumpkin, apple and mince meat pie. MrsMac made pumpkin cookies, cranberry bread, mashed cauliflower and a "unusual" cranberry sauce.

Of course we had stuffing (2 kinds sausage and oyster), potatoes, green beans, mashed potatoes, cole slaw and of course turkey gravy.

It was nice having it the pub as there was plenty of room, bathrooms, TV's to watch foot ball and of course adult beverages.

Manny thanks to Sdoon1 and her husband for hosting the shindig. Many thanks to Marie and her husband for supplying the home grown veggies!

You how did your Thanksgiving feast go?

That sounds like a blast, Johnny!

We had an amazing Thanksgiving Day.  Our "next door" neighbors (really over the hill so we can just see each other's roofs) came over.  Two of their adult kids and one of their kids' friends were there.  We we short three people who said they'd be coming, so we have TONS of leftovers, but I think we'll manage somehow. :)

We did have an interesting interlude when a dog wandered up our drive.  I lured it into the garage with turkey.  Turned out it was a neighbor's daughter's.  The daughter was visiting and the house dog wasn't fond of the daughter's dog and chased it out of their yard.  The daughter came and got the pup and all was well.

The holiday was so much fun.  We ate, talked, watched a movie (the consensus was they like our tv better, so I'm hoping we can lure them over for more movie nights with the promise of HD), drank wine and ate some more.

Now I just need to finish up the dishes and get the house decorated for the winter holidays!

Thank you!  I had so much fun putting it all together.

We watched Book of Eli.  It was good - I'm glad I didn't pay money for it in the theater, though.  But it was fun watching it with them.  Doom, gloom, paper thin plots with a singularly narrow view of good and evil, gratuitous violence.  What more can you ask from Hollywood? ;)
