You hit the nail on the head Reaver, when you said it's something you've been saying for years. A couple red flags went up for me when you said Professor and Stanford. He makes a sick amount of money for whatever he does, then gives this long speech that sounded good but really didn't say a lot. But with his long hair and quiet voice, he pulled the people in and collected another handsome paycheck and probably another grant to go study why California wine taste better than Bumblef#*k's wine. Anybody can have deeper thoughts after doing a doob while catfishing. " I think that it is, in the absence of a compelling reason to desist,in specific instances, it is better to know than not to know. Therefore, one might ponder, Is it shorter to New York or by bus? " ............gimme my grant!

No, definitely not insulting anybody. Just the liberal professors and colleges.

he's not saying anything related to political ideology. just observations of complex characteristics in animals that we used to think were unique to humans. which doesn't exactly put the nail in the coffin of the evolution debate but it is quite interesting to take note of these things.

all i'm saying is that he may or may not be a lib but that doesn't have much to do with the content of the lecture.

You're certainly right about that!  Just look how well all of the academics did when Obummer put them into positions of authority in government.

When I was in college there was a saying.  Those that can, do.  Those that can't, teach.  That may not be true in all cases but it is certainly true for the majority of professors.  For the majority, they are one screwed up group.  Mostly idealist idiots who visualize themselves as more intelligent than the masses they look down on.  It's really quite amazing what has happened to our educational system in this country.

Colleges and Universities, as well as High Schools are a bastion of really far left radical liberal thought.  There is no doubt about that.

I had two or three professors in college that were outright Communist and Socialist, they preached it, were not shy about it, and would give you horrible grades where they could if you dared spoke out against it.

I had a communications professor that openly bashed Christianity in class, and outright preached Communist, in his class room, if you dare asked questions about any of it that he didn't like, and you'd fail the class.  He'd also shout you down, if you tried to ask any questions he didn't like.  It was ridiculous.  Its like the liberal political propaganda army, really.  Liberty minded people have their work cut out for them in the propaganda wars for the minds of America.

Just got home from work, had to cut out earlier and didn't get to respond. I agree that in this case , the guy did make sense, but a lot of it was stuff people already know. Primates aren't the only ones having things in common with us. So do deer and turkeys, etc. Strutting their stuff around females, guarding their young, being territorial, all that. Those types of guys just bother me. There was some useful info in his speech. Not taking anything away from your post. It's good to gather info from everywhere. That's what I said when I said " I think that it is,  in the absence of a compelling reason to desist, etc." It was just making a regular sentence seem a little more "deep". You just use what you can and get rid of the rest. I guess my main point was that when his type come off as all knowing. It's easy for him to "baffle with bullshit" And people pay good money for their kids to sit there and get their mind full of whatever he wants them to. The kids come away from there thinking that these people are so profound. In reality, they could have gotten more useful information from that Yeager guy talking about the OODA Loop. I was just ranting, I feel better now..............Well, is it shorter to New York, or by bus? LOL
