Thanks for all the support. The police report is filed and the process truly cemented my belief that law enforcement is useless for your standard individual. They're essentially report-takers. Don't misunderstand, the cops I talked to today (and yes, plural because of the run around as to should it be boro cops or staties, and what time does the office really open after I got up at 6 am to get there at 7) were nice. I'm sure they're earnest, wanting to serve their communities, etc. and I respect them for that attitude. But there's not a darn thing they can do unless they get flat-out lucky. They certainly aren't doing anything to stop this kind of thing from happening, that's the bank's job doncha know. And, considering how far out I live, I certainly wouldn't depend on them for any sort of quick response for my personal safety. Calling 911 from here would be like saying, "hey bad guy, take your time robbing and assaulting me, no hurry." Grr...
