So what is REALLY going on?

Does anyone have any idea?  For days and days now we've watched the Tax Cut Extension go back and forth taking up most of the media time when they aren't talking about this candidate or another.

I find myself wondering what the other hand is doing.

I do see where a whole slew of State Department and Military Generals have separately been trekking to Israel and Turkey for meetings with their counterparts.  I think it's pretty obvious what's happening here when you take into account the recent change in verbiage being used by the Military and Administration in regards to Iran.

On a side note last night I watched the movie Iran put out this year to the Muslim world.  Basically, it identifies Iran?s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrallah as the individuals mentioned in Islamic prophecy (Hadith) as leaders who will wage war to bring about the arrival of the Hidden Imam, which the film says is ?very close? to happening.

Guys, these people leading Iran are religious zealots to the point of craziness.

It's fascinating how much time people spend looking for the roots of the arab-israeli conflict solely in Islamic religious beliefs and materials as if they were the sole cause.

The Talmud says some mighty wicked things about how to treat non-jews and what a jew is allowed to do to a non-jew, it's really some sick medieval shit. Not unlike what some Islamists believe, child rape and all.

It takes two to tango and the Iranians are not the only group at fault here, the sooner you people can take the blinders off and realize this the sooner we can get out of that god-forsaken shit hole of a region and get our boys home. If Israel were threatening to bomb my country every other day I might be pissed too. Just something to think about.

I guess some people just need a boogeyman.

Wow!  Pretty deep.  Only I think you got confused about who has been working diligently on their nuke and threatening to remove who from the face of the Earth since they came to power.  Maybe you should watch the video Iran produced again.  By the way, I do agree that there probably are greater powers using those Iranian religious fanatics as useful idiots. 

Honestly, RS, what you or I believe isn't going to change what happens much at all.  Neither of us has control over what will happen but both of us will have to find a way to live through the aftermath if possible.  Personally, I think that boogeyman you don't believe in is gonna be a bitch.

They have no business being sent to die for the strategic interests of Israel because their congressman took AIPAC campaign funds, Israel sickens me just as much as Iran, we don't need either of them. However one of them needs us.

Israel has nukes, most of them have been pointed at europe for 40+ years, let them look after themselves.
If these two fanatical states want their own little nuclear war let them have it.

In the 40's when the topic came up the world's rabbinical scholars said it was a bad idea as the jews were a "people in exile by GOD" but the zionists won out anyway and a people with ZERO genetic or historical ties to "the holy land" displaced the natives and came to inhabit it regardless.

Israel would be a non-issue if we simply worried about our country and the problems besetting it right now.

I'm not going to argue with all of that, some of it is true.  But what does it change?  Whether we attack Iran in conjunction with Israel or not will make no difference.  We are going to feel the effects.  Hopefully those effects will be purely economic.  But that's not where I'd put my money. 

The major players all know what the outcome of an attack would be and they are still backing the different sides for their own reasons.  More directly said, the powers that be in China, Russia and the United States want this conflict for their own reasons.  They all look to lose population they consider undesirable or uncontrollable and they all look to gain something they want from it.

I CANNOT support either side morally, they are both inherently evil and are playing into the hands of the devil, and while it is painful to watch Im not going to throw my hat in with Israel simply because it is the will of the lowest common denominator.

I want to live on my land, raise my cattle, and take care of my family in peace.
I don't want my taxes funding murder and subversion, I don't want my fellow countrymen dying for a big lie.

I simply can't do it.
Some people can justify using government guns to enforce their personal interpretation of religious dogma but I don't roll that way, I have close family in the military and it would drive me off the edge to see them killed over some War Hawk's lie, or over Israel's lauded divinity.

Iran and Israel should just stop fighting and make out, they only hate each other because they are so damn similar.
