Slowly Leaving FaceBook

It has finally dawned me that FaceBook is a useless waste of my time and energy; Consequently I am slowing divesting myself of the site.

My reasoning's are:
1) Google and other groups are learning more and more about me with each of my posts.
2) The people on FaceBook are all set in their ways and really do not care for your opinion unless it is identical to theirs.
3) I believe that many of the discussions are helping flame the small fire towards Civil War. People do not understand what a Civil War
    would do to this country. Minimally, it would affect negatively our country for one to two generations (20-40 years).
4) MrsMac does not use a computer of any sort. She does not own a working cell phone anymore. When you google her name nothing
    comes up. When you google my name, pages of crap come up. I do realize that probably there will still be umpteen pages but with
    the exception of this site, it will be ancient history.
5) I think it is addictive to a point not unlike video games can be. Now what is addictive to one person may not be addictive to others.

My plan is:
A) Review my account once a week in case someone has PM's me.
B) Remove all of my photo's except for a few basic photo's.
C) When I do visit the site once a week, to not view the crap being spouted - Go in get out ASAP.
D) Maybe I will close my account entirely in the future...Maybe not.

In closing the reason I am making the announcement here is because a lot of the forum members are FaceBook friends. You will now know why you are not reading my diatribe anymore.

 I use facebook to see pictures of my grandchildren and occasionally to post a conservative or anti liberal statement. We have an ancient  flip phone used only for emergencies on the road. Being a Grayman  is very important to me.

Guilty. I'm a FB addict. I started using it years ago for talking with friends and family. Then with the last two-three elections it morphed into learning more about politics, firearms, etc. and trying to win hearts and minds. More recently, after seeing what both liberals and conservatives say when their "dander is up," and then they aren't open minded on top of it, I've largely abandoned my goal of changing minds. Now I just get on to have fun, troll everybody, and generally to pass the time when I'm bored but I cannot necessarily invest my time into actually learning something.

My data mining is probably a few thousand pages long at this point, LOL. Between all the posting I've done on prepping forums, gun forums, gaming forums, and social media over the last decade, I don't know that I'd ever be able to go "gray man."

I've never participated on facebook, though my wife, son and my Dad all use it.  I've always been concerned with the security risk of facebook, which is my primary reason for avoiding it.

I have many friends on FB from car forums.
As such they are a demographic that is fertile ground for conservative AgitProp.

I share hard hitting essays all the time and I know they sometime spread them.

It costs me little effort and networking and building the movement is much more important to me than OPSEC.

If we all retreat into a shell we will wake up to a progressive tyranny in our lifetimes.
The only reason we avoided HRC is americans working social media hard to crack the information monopoly the mainstream media has.

Trump has been elected but you all see the the reactionary push against him from media etc.

The more we devalue mainstream media (by using social media) the better for the country
