Precious Metals.
« on: June 15, 2021, 07:56:29 PM »
Nope... I'm not going to talk about Silver and Gold. I'm going to talk about Base Metals like Copper and Nickel. Those two metals are moving up into the precious metals category. Copper is now at $4 a pound and Nickel is at $8 a pound. I didn't do the math on Copper Pennies but I'm thinking the pre 1982 pennies are worth about 4 cents each. I did do the math on Nickels and a Nickel is worth 9 cents each. I've been hoarding them for several years now and I actually believe that when the Dollar crashes, I'll be in the Catbirds seat with all those Copper and Nickel coins. I do not want to have to use any Silver until there is nothing else left to trade with. I don't buy Junk Silver but I do look for the pre 1964 coins and only have a couple of them. I've got a Quarter that was worth $3 when I found it but that Quarter has jumped up pretty good since I found it. A quarter is a 1/4 ounce of Silver at 90% so today it would be worth $28/4 x .9 = $6.30. Hmmmm.... When you do the math, Junk Silver stops being JUNK real quick.
