While I appreciate the service Armslist.com provides, the people who post stuff for same like it's the crown jewels or something. At least in my state's section is like that.

I did an appraisal of a small collection of hunting rifles and shotguns for a neighbor, and used Armslist to help me out on the general value of things, among other sites. It's a wonder anyone sells anything off of that site. But I suppose the old saying, there's a sucker born every minutes, applies in this case.

My neighbor did have an older Winchester 1300 shotgun, in nice shape. Am thinking of seeing if she's willing to let it go. Get a shorter barrel, and would make a great home defense piece.

I hear your frustration.  Most of the time people are trying to "break even" and not pricing what they could really get.  The best bet for buying on there is to haggle, but if they wont budge hope they change their mind soon but forget about it.

If you are selling on there, look around locally and see what the going rate is.  Take it in to a gun shop and see what they would give you for it.  Then put it up for 100-200 more than what they offer.  And dont be afraid, if you are looking for a different gun to post willingness to trade.  Just make sure that you dont get screwed in the deal.  So far I have completed about 5 very successful transactions on that site.  If you have any questions or would like advice, just shoot me a PM.
