Last summer, our Family Doctor and also family friend, was telling us all about his recent trip to Yellowstone National Park. I told him that one of my favorite hobbies is Geology and I was delighted that he and his family had the opportunity to see it. Then I told him, "Now, if you ever tell me that you went near it again, I'm going to plant my foot in your ass." The official Government statement is that there is nothing to worry about. The rest of the Geology world says to stay the hell away from there. I have a brother-in-law who lives in Ogden, Ut. and I would love to go visit him but as far as I'm concerned, 300 miles away is still too close. I'd also love to go rock hunting in Colorado but that's also too close for comfort. If you ask one of the Government Geologists if its going to blow in the next 10 years, they'll say, "Not much of a chance." If you ask them if its going to blow in the next 50 years, they will grow very quiet. Hmmmmm..... I wonder why that is.
