Why copper and lithium could be 'the new oil'
By Julia Horowitz, CNN Business

London (CNN Business)For decades, crude oil has been at the center of global commodities markets. Demand has served as a crucial metric of economic health, and price spikes have had major ramifications for gas-guzzling consumers.
But as countries around the world try to combat the climate crisis, oil could take a backseat, while metals like copper and lithium gain prominence.

"The critical role copper will play in achieving the Paris climate goals cannot be overstated," Goldman Sachs analysts said in a recent research note titled "Copper is the new oil."

Copper is an essential component of systems that allow wind, solar and geothermal energy to be tapped and transmitted for applications like heating homes, the analysts noted.

I've been saving every pre 1982 penny I can find. I've been doing it for about 3 or 4 years. I weigh every 1982 penny to see if its Copper or Zinc. The Zinc ones are 39 grains and the Copper ones are 48 grains. Most Copper Stackers overlook the 1982 Copper pennies. It seems to work out that about half the 1982 pennies are Copper. Now, on to Nickels. Nickels are the only coin left that are still 90% Nickel so I've been saving every Nickel that I get. Copper Pennies and Nickels are worth more than their face value and when the SHTF they are going to be really valuable. I used to watch the price per pound of Copper and Nickel but it got really boring so I only check the Spot Price about once a month. I watch the Silver Spot Price every day. The funny thing about Silver is that nobody has any to sell and they can't seem to get any to sell yet the price is kept artificially low. "Hey I'm selling Hot Dogs 5 for a dollar but I don't have any right now."
