American Made Denim Jeans
« on: October 15, 2012, 12:31:44 PM »
I came here to let everybody know about a little company Glen Beck is trying to push along. From what I'm told on his radio broadcast he was always a Levis man until recently they have been making them overseas, with lesser quality like fake rivets, and they announced their desire to be the 'uniform' of the protest movement. Beck found the original loom in North Carolina that made the original denim for the first Levi Jeans and so they are starting to crank out classic styled 100% American made Jeans. The price is pretty steep at $129 a pair, but if you're feeling a little financially spry you can check out their website.

Great idea, piss poor execution.

Try All American Clothing instead. They clothing is more reasonably priced and you are not supporting a radical fear monger like Beck.

Yeah I heard it too. I went to the site and it was down. Probably crashed after Glenn made the announcement.  :))

Many...Many...Many years ago I worked for The Gap in Seattle, WA. and we sold Levi 501's. Well when Levis went to China the powers to be at The Gap decided to do the same. Now if you go into The Gap that is the reason they only sell their own brand.

Last, be careful posting anything using Glenn Beck's name as many of the SP community dislike the man. Don't know why however they do.

Great ad, looks like a decent product.

If you can handle the made in china issue here's a writeup on some other tough as nails pants with a surprising guarantee.

Yes. I scratch my head at preppers calling Glen Beck a 'radical fear monger' and then turn around and go on Youtube and preach about how bad things are going to get.

Those Fire Hose pants are rugged! I don't own a pair but a good friend of mine does and he says they are the bee's knees.

If you guys would like we could open a new topic for GB..

I bought the fire hose shorts and they are TOUGH! Plus they make me look slim  [img]http://www.arrse.co.uk/at

Probably need to buy a couple pairs of slacks too.  [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co

On the Glenn Beck issue...I AM NOT INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING!  There is three things you stay away from on this site:

1) Religion,
2) Supporting Mitt Romney, and
3) Glenn Beck!

Oh there is one other...Cannibalism. I agree with that one though  :))

Hmmm.  Let's see.  I truly feel that God is influencing me to vote for Romney and I'm pretty sure that Glenn Beck would back me up on that.  As for cannibalism, Obama can bite me!  I think that covers it. : )

Sledge...LMFAO!  :)) :)) :))

TG:

> None accusatory, my God is better than your God talk...Sure. I was baptized a Christian and read the bible regularly. Both the
Old & New testament. With that said, I WILL NOT force "My Religion" down anybodies throat! I celebrate all religions as long as
they preach non-violence and that their version of worshiping God is not above someone else s.  By what route you take to
heaven is your decision not unlike the route you or I would take to Las Vegas.
> Politics is difficult to talk to in this type of forum. Someone who is passionate may come across as forceful when writing words
Vs. talking to someone face to face. I have many friends from CA. to the east coast that span the spectrum from socialists
to ultra conservatives. When we are face to face we agree to more than what we disagree about. However when we are
typing and in the passionate "zone" we say things (Unintentionally) we would never say amono, amono.
> I like Glenn. I will NOT CARRY HIS WATER though. Like other "show biz folks" some things he says I agree with while some I do
not. I was on the National Mall, August 28, 2010. I asked the local National Park Ranger how many folks were 'here' and he told
me 600,00 to 650,000. The main stream media was saying there was 75,000 to 80,000 people there- That's pretty
impressive and telling at the same time. Whether you like Glenn (Personality) or his message, he has helped millions of folks to
'wake up' and question the status-quot. Was he rude to Ron Paul...Yup! And I didn't like it at the time! Was he rude to Mitt
Romney...Yup! And to this day Mitt refuses to appear on his radio or TV program.

So there you have it...JohnyMac's  2?'s. I rent myself out to Bar Mitzvah's and comedy shows too.  :))

But really you've summed it up nicely.

There is nothing un-American about wearing pants made from the cheapest, hottest, poorest working conditions Chineese sweat shop that money can buy.

Keep in mind Mountain that any small run in a factory costs more.

Back when I worked for LaserPerformance (Maker of the Laser, Sunfish, C420, etc) a college wanted to buy a dozen C420's BUT wanted a specific color molded into the hull. They ended up paying 50% more.

The additional cost was in:

> Stopping the normal pipeline of boats in the mold room,
> Buying smaller quantity of resin and gel coat, and
> Having each boat individually detailed before being shipped.

I can only assume that starting up an old loom, for a limited run of material; then making them into pants would not be cheap. My guess is that the cost of a complete set of slacks would be $80-. Then when you add in a 'keystone' markup that would bring them to the $120- retail price.

Just saying...
