tornado etc
« on: August 06, 2013, 09:37:28 PM »
Well today I enjoyed my first tornado warning. The sirens went off, my phone texted me to get to shelter immediatly..  I figured out real fast there's no basement on this building. My best bet was sitting on the stairs by the main entrance. Very interesting experience. As I sat there I realized how crazy it will be to hear a tornado of unknown power ripping through and not knowing if any second the building would be ripped from its foundation (no windows in that spot). Luckily the tornado didnt hit despite every gauge of threat and tornado size being all the way in the red. According to the tv alert storm chasers saw multiple funnels forming.

On a side note I'm sad to say I must return to CA for family reasons. I lasted ten whole days in the freedom zone... oh well..

Will the return be temporary or indefinate?

Longterm I would imagine. I try to avoid eating my words so I cannot say indefinate.

Family first. At least you took the chance and gave it a shot, regardless of how it all worked out. Most people never get that far. Hang in there Ken.

Had my first tornado warning here in Idaho for the first time in years, they had the weather reports and the sirens which was cool but of course the tornado didn't hit nobody. From what I heard the tornado touched down somewhere in the country and about 20 minutes later it was over. According to the Fuchida Scale it was a F-2. First time Idaho had a tornado in a long time though.
