Well it's been 54 weeks now without a job so it is time that I take the bull by the horns here and create one. Hopefully not only for me but several other folks in RI too.
I have an incredible retail back ground that started with a company that only had 12 stores when I joined them and now have over 400 in North America. I have held positions from being and asst manager to a VP overseeing 120 stores with 1,500 employees at peak sales time that did $160 MM in sales and $24 MM in EBITDA annually.
So I have decided to follow my interests and open my own retail store specializing in Shooting Sports items.
This is where I need your help. I am trying to find a few mom & pop's that will share some things with me before I sign a lease, and they are:
> The 80/20 rule- What 20% of their merchandise gives them 80% of their revenue,
> Computer - software as well as hardware info,
> Go through a middle man or order directly from the companies I will carry,
> Etcetera.
I have contacted four mom & pops on the other side of the state and they do not want to share any information with me. I have contacted the NRA twice and both times they wrote back saying, "someone will be in contact with you shortly." Well that never happened.
So do you have any connections that would be willing to share with me the knowledge they have gathered over the years?
