I know I'm opening myself up to a :shitStorm:
Today is the day I can no longer bite my tongue on this issue of utmost importance to prepping. :sarcasm:
The way I see it, with the amount of time I've spent deciphering some of y'all's* sentences, y'all* can listen to me bitch about it. (*See what I did there?)
Let's (no names - yes, there are more than a couple) get this straight once and for all.
Then = time / sequence
Than = comparatives

S-k, I stopped editing grammar mistakes back in the SP days. ;)

Right on SK! :thumbsUp: I know that I am the worst offender especially as the night wanes on. ;)
-
I usually find native English speakers writing "there" instead of "there are" or "your" instead of "you are" but the worst of all is the "you was" :whip:
-
The only reason I bring up this particular error is because it is the one that most often causes me to have to re-read sentences.
My rule-of-thumb about editing grammar/typos is if I have to read it more than 3 times to understand it, it qualifies to be edited. That being said, it's rarely the case.

There, their, they're Special K, it'll be alright.
I actually learned something here though. What about effect and affect?
-
I always have trouble with them, I have to recite "affect is a verb and effect is a noun" and see if that helps.

I have taken countless writing, English and composition courses throughout my adult life and this one still catches me frequently.

I have to jump in here and mention, considering this is a subject dear to my heart, that the subject of this post is ironically incorrect. Apostrophes are possessive (and contractions), not plural. It should be Grammar Nazis, not Nazi's. ;) (Unless, of course as I realized AFTER I posted, you're using it in the possessive manner as in Corner of the Grammar Nazi. D'oh!)
Effect is what happens when you have an affect on something. Effect is the result, affect the action.
There - a place, their - belongs to them, they're - contraction of "they are".

@WPW
Yeah, it is meant as possessive... but it could go either way and still hold meaning.
If it makes you feel any better I misspelled grammar (grammer) while drafting, but I caught it before posting.

We went several years, starting with Mr.LnL then SP, now UP, totally grammar conscious free and now the can of grammar worms has been opened. Theres no turning back now.

Why should I worry about it if youre gonna eventually fix it for me. :thumbsUp:

That is close but the worst is "you is" along with "we is" and "we was".

Or, when someone is talking to you and they say..."See what I am saying?"
I always make a motion of looking around and then say, "I don't see anything." ;)
