thanks guys. I'm super excited to finally have something dependable. (my old truck is a '87 F150... lol) my only gripe is that the cab is so huge that it eats up some of my bedspace. but that's just a minor gripe. I really need the big cab if it's going to be my BOV.
-
Yeah 4 doors for 4 dudes to roll out of at once is nice.
-
well actually.... my other gripe is that it's only 2WD not 4x4... :'(
beggars can't be choosers i guess... :P

i Manage to drive a 2wd truck up here in the winter. Get a set of wheel chains and some empty sandbags to throw in the back and you will be good to go.

I don't see myself needing chains. i've seen snow a total of 3 times in my whole life.. lol. but yea, I'm going to stock that truck up with multiple methods of getting un-stuck. upgrade the tires once my budget allows it. i'll probably invest in a heavy "come-along", and just the standard planks of wood and sandbags. once I arrive at the BOL, the RWD shouldn't be a big concern. we ride around the property in a little RWD Ranger all the time and never get stuck. it's nothing but that hard red clay out there. but around the NOLA area it's nothing but mud, mud, mud. hell, half of the suburbs surrounding the city was a swamp just 40 years ago. they literally just dredged that shit up and built on top of it. lots of houses in certain areas are literally SINKING because the ground is so soft. needless to say, leveling and foundation repair is big business down here. probably the most ridiculous example I can think of is the time I pulled off to the side of the highway driving the lady's Explorer to take a piss (it was urgent.. lol) and got stuck ON THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD...lol.

Thats what happens when you piss on the one tire with power. lol

Congrats NOLA! up 2 -4 50# bags of sand laid on the bed over the rear axle will help a bunch in snow or muddy conditions.
I am glad you bought a Ford rather then Government Motors. When I bought my F 150 I had my wife take my picture in front of the truck. I sent the picture and a short note to Barry. The note said: You bought GM so I bought Ford.
It was one of my many letters I sent to him todate and I have never received a letter in return [img]http://www.arrse.co.uk/at
Congrats!!!

random outburst: I LOVE THIS FUCKING TRUCK! lol

Nice truck man. I'd like a nice truck, right now I've got a 97 Ford Exploder (lol) for my BOV.
