I'm the same way RS7. I bought a police turn in off my father because it was a good deal and then ended up liking it. It never rusts, never complains, it's easy to take care of, easy to modify. I actually think it is a decent looking gun too. Takes a while to get used to the grip though.

I always hated glocks and talked shit about themm.. Then I bought my glock gen 4 just because nothing else beats it for the money. I'm a total hypocrite myself. I was also shopping for an AR today.. I may note I have 4 AK's..

Oh no you didn't! I was just sitting here reading all of the nice Glock stories, minding my own business. Then I scroll down, and BAM, you said the S word. You know, I think you and I are the only Sig lovers on this forum. I can hear the arrows coming at us as I speak. LOL!

You're right, they are pricey, too pricey. I was glad that mine came with 3 mags when I bought it.

I've never seen a Sig that worked properly.
Not bashing them just stating my experience.

Just saying, the only two Sigs i've had a chance to shoot were a P226 and a 556R, the 226 was below expectations, FTE about once a mag with multiple ammo types, the Sig 556R was so terrible i was shocked it was considered a firearm, FTF, FTE, Damage to the magwell with steel mags, key-holing, stove-piping, AND the extractor would fail to hold the round and throw the casing/live round back into the action of the rifle. Almost a hilarious amount of malfunctions, loved watching the Sig rep at work dance his way around all the problems with the 556R.  :))

MAC seemed to have all the same 556R problems we had.

That sucks! All I can do is speak from my experience. I've never had a malfunction with mine. Knock on wood. There must be something to Sigs though. They like Glock, have a big following.

Here's a Sig story:

Brand new P226 bought in the mid 90's.  Had no problems with anything +p.  Had to be stiff-wristed with standard pressure 115gr or it would occasionally stove-pipe and/or FTE.  124gr, standard pressure would consistently stove-pipe and/or FTE even if stiff-wristed.  One day the owner was fondling another 9mm and noticed that the slide on his p226 felt significantly heavier when working the slide when compared to another 9mm of similar frame size.  The P226 and the other 9mm are both supposed to come stock with a 15lb. recoil spring.  The owner ordered a "spring calibration pack" for his P226.  When he received the pack, he noticed that the new 15lb. spring felt significantly lighter than the supposed 15lb. spring that came in the new P226.  The new 15lb. spring also stopped all the stove-piping and FTE's and the P226 now works flawlessly.

Lesson learned:

Somewhere along the line, whether at the Sig factory or the gun dealer's shop, a heavier spring made its way into the new P226.  An interesting note is that the original spring was the proper color code for a 15lb. recoil spring (gray I think)... so this was most likely a problem caused at the factory by using the wrong paint on the wrong springs.  There's no telling how many of these incorrectly color coded springs are still floating around out there causing this same problem and leading some folks to chant "sig sucks" as there mantra.  If you're experiencing stove piping and/or FTE in a Sig... consider getting a new recoil spring.

I shot my GF's Sig 232 .380 this past Saturday.  That is one sweet little pistol.  Can't say anything bad about it after 3 boxes of the cheapest fmj we could find.  Not a single problem.  It was accurate and a snap to clean as well.

About the only thing that I didn't care for was that it doesn't have a slide release lever.  But then, not every gun can be a Colt or a Beretta.

That's an interesting story Special-K.  I had a Sig226 for a while and loved it.  Then one day the thing decided it didn't wanna work anymore.  It was my dad's old duty weapon so it had worked for years flawlessly.  It was a complete shit too.  I would get at most in one "shooting" 5 rounds out the gun before a jam and that was the exception.  That was with factory and after mags and multiple kinds and makes of ammo.  Dad and my bro (who swore I knew nothing about firearms  lol) said I just wasn't lubing it.  And of course this was all after sending it to the factory for repair on a similar issue years before.  Sounds to me like that might be something to look into, in case I ever need to rely on that thing again.  Especially since I did after all drop the money into getting the extra mags for it.  Who knows

I haven't had enough experience with a Sig to say.

If you got a runner don't look down on it no matter the brand.

Just so happened that I got lucky picking up 2 Glocks that run for the price of one Sig :P

I've even thought about picking a Sig,

1Km, I posted that pick because it is the one I wanted not to make fun. I really liked the look and the idea of having a 1911 in 380.

Here is a dipped Sig 220,
