Get Extra Gas Can
« on: February 11, 2022, 10:05:12 PM »
2 days ago, West Texas Intermediate was at $89.90 a barrel with Brent Crude about a buck higher.  Might get an extra gasoline can.

Guess where today?   Might want to add a propane bottle next to the gas can.

Topped off our gas tanks and containers yesterday, after the price jumped $0.30 in the past week.  Ouch!  It was one of those things that I kept postponing.  I topped off diesel a few weeks ago, but we don't use much of that.

By habit, we should all try to drive on the top half (perhaps quarter) of a tank. Too many sudden surprises can interfere with the ability to purchase gas (or anything else). Here, house heating is usually wood stove, with electrical heating as a back-up.

Bwahahaha...... I don't seem to have a problem affording the gas but I just plain refuse to pay $16 for a one gallon plastic gas can. I did add a 2 gallon and a 5 gallon gas can to my collection not long ago but it was only because I got them at an almost reasonable price. Back in 2008, I bought a bunch of 6 gallon plastic gas cans for about $9 or $10 each. Today, those big cans are about $25 each.  By the way...... Whatever happened to the good old metal gas cans? Hmmmm.... Come to think about it, I bought several of those 6 gallon gas cans back around 1998 for my lawn mower and generator.

Sportsman's Guide used to carry metal gas/fuel cans regularly.    No cigar today.
Guess we're not the only ones looking for them...

Oil prices still dropping.  I wonder if the UAE/Saudi noises about increasing production affected anything.
