Yesterday I needed some help pulling electrical wire in the cellar of the cabin so I asked MrsMac to help out.
She was happy to help and I set her up so there was NO WAY for her to fall off the ladder - which she didn't. When we were done she started up the cellar stairs and promptly lost her balance (Damn Crock Clogs) and fell down the three or four steps she had climbed and landed on her right side. She used her right arm to break the fall and you got it she broke it.
In denial she didn't want to go to the hospital but by this morning her wrist ached enough that she went willingly to the small...Very small local hospital.
Well with today being the first day of Obamacare the emergency room nurse & doctor kept complaining and then apologizing to us for O'Care. The paperwork was HUMONGOUS and their connection to where-ever kept crashing.
Before MrsMac could even see a doctor a lady asked her a shit-ton of questions like:
> Do you have a fire extinguisher at home?
> Do you have guns at home? Are they kept locked? Is the ammunition separate and locked up?
> Do you wear a seat belt while traveling in the car?
> Do you have an active sex life (No kidding)? Then...With one partner or multiple partners?
Most of MrsMac's answers were, "None of your business."
The list goes on and on.
Then the paperwork to release her from the hospital was even worst then being admitted.
Now get this, we were the only folks in the emergency room and we got there at 9:00AM. We walked out at 11:30AM. Honest ingin here...Actual hands on medical (xray, taking vitals, wrapping her arm, etc) took 30 minutes. The rest was filling out paperwork and waiting for responses to come back from what ever central computer system they were accessing.
Again the doctor and nurse were most apologetic and explained that it will only get worst as O'Care settles in.
Have fun girls and boys...
