Wow. I'm not sure what I can say...what anyone can do. That is a terrible thing to happen. 30 years...my God.

Why did he run off to TX and not show up to court?  Bad decision.

His daughter is 7YO!  Out of my lane of knowledge, but even if a 7YO was coached by her mother (particularly a crazy-ass one), a good child psychologist should be able to tease out the truth.  I wonder what, if any, additional evidence was provided in court.

Moral of the story, domestic disputes suck for everyone, and they can spiral out of control quickly.  I read in another article that his crazy-ass girlfriend/wife was later arrested for torching his trailer.  WTF?

"Hell has no fury like a woman scorned."

Sidebar note:
In the the current culture where it is fairly common to date/marry a woman who already has kids, a guy needs to be VERY careful about spending time alone or enforcing discipline with those kids.  I have knowledge of one case where a psycho teenage step-daughter convinced a court that her step-father abused her, it all boiled down to "she-said he-said" in court and who was more convincing.  Now he is listed on the sex offender list, a felon, and can't be in possession of a firearm.  All I am saying is watch your six, such things are more common than we would like to think.  Finally, it is best to avoid domestic disputes like the plague.  If you can't keep the woman happy, best to keep your mouth shut and walk away peacefully.  With kids in the mix, it can be a horrific 18 year lesson of torture, and biting your tongue is paramount to making it through.

I am only speaking of experience of witnessing others go through it, my family is good to go and squared away and we work to keep it that way.

Regards,

Walker

I think he ran from his court date because he was scared that they were really "conspiring" against him. don't quote me on this but if I remember correctly from back when it happened, he ran away the day after his house was torched. maybe he thought "they" did it. or maybe "they" did indeed do it. who knows. but I think that's why he ran. if that truly was the reason then I can't say I blame him.

not 100% sure about this case either way. just happened upon this blog today (thanks to ArcticPatriot) and figured I'd share it.

EDIT: actually there's a fairly lengthy letter than he wrote and submitted to the local news detailing why he was doing what he did. I'll post it up if I can track it down online.

Here is the basic run down of what lead up to his E&E, mind you that this is just about THIS case and not about the case in which the Feds tried to crucify him with bogus weapon charges.  Keep in mind that during this time he is constantly being told that he is done for. Also that from the beginning when they started searching for evidence they stole things unrelated to the case but were important to his role in inspiring the patriot movement.  He was flat out told that he would never be making videos or speeches again.

Remember, as was stated in the blog post, the "system" (i.e. Judge, sheriff, prosecutor) was railroading him, denying chances to reveal evidence and plead his case.

Right before the house fire he and his lawyer ask for a continuation and the request is denied.

While he is away (thank god) someone torches his house, ALONG WITH SOME EVIDENCE.

The blame is IMMEDIATELY put on Charles, the militia and the Oath Keepers.

At this point Charles fearing for his life goes into hiding.  (OH sure, turn himself over to the system, which has been aimed at him like a loaded gun, to take care of him and keep him safe.  sounds smart to me...)

At this point there is an ALL OUT MANHUNT for a man ACCUSED of committing a crime.  The steps they took to TRY to find him were unreal and something you would think he was carrying around Osama in a duffel bag with him then...
PLEASE READ THIS ARTICLE http://www.committee.org/cdc/SI01.htm

During the time of his E&E the Feds made attempts to use Charles flight to entrap and take down at least a couple more patriots.  These were, at least for the ones that I know about, unsuccessful .

Finally realizing the amount of brute force that the powers that be are willing to bring against him, Charles surrenders himself to a local Sheriff in Texas.

Charles Dyer was taken down because he was such an influential person within the patriot movement.  I know the man and believe wholeheartedly in his innocence.  His case as well as the events surrounding it were a clear cut assault on a patriot and the movement and the PTB were ready for a war because of it.  Literally.  But alas, when they took him down many got scared and fled, the PTB won that battle.

BTW Walker, I am assuming by your comments that you know nothing about Oklahoma's version of Child Protective Service and the "system" in general.  This is a very biased and nightmarish system where the mother can, except in extreme cases, do no wrong.  And the system itself gives no damn about the children, only the money they can make off of them.  It would take NOTHING for someone within the system to manipulate a child to that degree.

Many lives were ruined by this event, but especially those of Charles, his little girl, his parents, and his girlfriend.
