 Gold. It's up $9.00 at closing, It was up over $1.00 yesterday. If my memory serves me right China bought 70 metric tons of gold from Australia just recently.
 Oil down $1.32 at closing. Good for vacationers. My step daughter just drove 8 hours to Canada but won't drive 2 hours to visit her mother says its to far.

Monex is reporting now that gold is up $12 at $1255 and Silver is up $0.22 at $16.46. 

I pay more attention to silver because I have little in hand gold.  Silver is a bit different though.

http://www.nasdaq.com/markets/crude-oil.aspx  is reporting WTI is closing at $45.77 now and closing right at $46.90 yesterday. 

Oil is expected to continue to trend down in advance of the upcoming producer (OPEC) meeting.

http://www.businessinsider.com/oil-price-opec-meeting-july-2017-7  has  WTI posted at $46.49 (-24).  I could never figure out how they could come up with numbers so far apart.

Either way, I can deal with those numbers.

I wonder if the continued downward trend of oil is not a behind the scene political/economic action to put the screws to Russia. The majority of Russia's economy comes from the sale of oil and natural gas to the EU.

Mmmm? Wasn't Mr. Trump just in eastern Europe selling natural gas. Similarly in France.

It well could be the reason in part.  Another part (IMHO) is the headaches the mid-east is having with Qatar.  The rest of them joined up and squawked at Qatar at behest of Trump on his visit there.

Despite the largest military base of anyone in that region is US and there.

But when Saudia Arabia and about all the rest of them says we will supply all the oil and your prices are too high to pressure an oil producer, they pay attention and if you still try to sell we will not sell to those buying from you.
