I hear ya' Jackalope.
While I was finishing the inside of the cabin back in 2011 or so, I was there alone much of the time. We had minimal electricity other than what the solar panel provided and lights were all Aladdin kerosene lamps. I did have a Sirius radio which we listened to which kept us abreast of what was happening in the world. At that time had some great old time radio programs too. One of my favorite was,
The Shadow. Anyway, I digress.
Anyhow, for the internet I had a 'hot spot pod'. Sometimes we had reception while more often than not we did not. With the hot spot, I use to watch
Jericho on my laptop if I had a signal. During that period if MrsMac was at the cabin with me, she would just read using the Aladdin lamp (s) because like I already wrote, she felt that the main theme of the series was "hooking up" with your neighbors wife.
The first and second season were great! The third, the writers were grasping at straws. The last season I never finished as it was a bit out there.
It was good entertainment when the snow was coming down horizontal.
