There are several management styles. I won't go into each one but since I was a manager, I chose the one that worked best for me. My employees were the most productive and loved working for me. Now, here is a terrible but effective management style. The Manager creates a workplace atmosphere were: Everybody hates and distrusts each other, works hard to out do the other workers so the other workers look bad, tells management every little wrong thing that the other employees do, and they are kept in the dark and off balance as much as possible. With that said, does this sound familiar in todays world? Since I was aware of this management tactic, it jumped right out at me when I listen to the news.
