Well gentleman! most of you in this online community know me! Have read my posts not on here but on MRlockandload.com. I've been extremely busy the past few weeks getting ready to leave for my basic training.
Tomorrow morning is the days of days. I will have to be at the airport at 0630. Wish me luck and I thank each and everyone of you for the support and advice that was giving to me. Many of you have vastly increased my knowledge of many things.
For those of you that don't know I chose the job 68w combat medic.

Good luck Cornkiller! Take care of yourself buddy. Don't let them pick on you too much. Oh wait, I guess you won't have a choice. lol Take care.
-
Good luck bud! Remember...never volunteer for anything! With the new rules the old saying "don't drop the soap" has more meaning than it used too in the service! ;)
-
No one else will say it but I will.
YOUR NOT GOING TO BENNING YOU POG
Just kidding bud, no matters. Always remember that what the DI's are doing is their job and unless you doing something incredibly stupid. They don't actually hate you.
Have fun with it man. Really.
Stay safe. Godspeed.

LOL! That made me laugh! I will be in a combat arms battalion if that matters? :p A combined arms one to be exact. 2 infantry company's, 2 Armor, 2 combat engineer. ETC lol..

Hi Cornkiller, Merry Christmas and welcome back! Glad you enjoyed it! Glad you get to spend the holidays with your family too. :)
-
Merry X-mass killer, where is my 240b?
Just kidding brother, good to have you back. What did you learn?
-
Thanks guys.. it feels soo weird to be back..
I tried to get that 240B for you.. But... I couldn't hide it in my wall locker..
What I've learned?.. I learned how to be cold..
Best part of basic was urban ops. I had a expert infantry drill sergeant and he taught us how to stack and breach and how to move and check for ieds.
Also I pay extreme attention to detail now.
-
The Devil is in the details isn't he?
-
good luck buddy :)
-
The Devil is in the details isn't he?
He sure is.
-

-
Welcome back Cornkiller.
Please keep us posted on any "in country" intel.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a AWESOME 2012!
-
Chesty im in the national guard. I'm in one of my local units. I will go there after my AIT.
Thanks for the support guys! means allot..
About the intel? sure thing.. I didn't let them brainwash me but I sure did let them train me. lol
My oath is to the constitution and i take that to heart. [img]http://www.smileydesign.n

welll guys... I'm fullly finished.. I'm now a combat medic. Took me a long 6 months of training.. I'm finally home. Feels good to be finally done.
I didn't know how hard it was to become a medic until I got there. My platoon started out with 87 and we graduated 47. The others couldn't cut it and got re-classed to a easier MOS.
-
Wecome back, lessions learned?

Awesome, you're now going to be priceless to a tribe in WROL if it ever happens. Ohh to have a combat medic in my tribe!
Glad you're done! As TG said, Lessons Learned?
-
pretty much how to treat any battlefield injury. burns, gun shots, shrapnel. Medications and doses.
how to save a life to sum it all up. I wish I could elaborate more but its not really "type able knowledge." allot of body functions.
allot of being able to spot life threats, std's, infections. I don't know open heart surgery but I know what to do for anything treatable.
-
Pray you never really have to do your job. For me, unfortunately, I did...Good luck.
-

You were intel and a combat medic... dang that rocks... to know what you know...
-
People do change mos's allot. My drill SGT had 2 different jobs. My platoon SGT in AIT had 3. Its normal to do your job for a while and reclassify as something else. When I get a chance im changing mine to EOD! Now thats 2 awesome skills to have in WROL. :p
-
Just don't let me catch you at some FEMA checkpoint in my neck of the woods. [url=http://yoursmiles.org/p-m
-
Yeah dude EOD is a really kewl skill set. and its a very small community of people nationwide who can do it well. So yes it would be a marketable skill to have in good and bad times bro.

I would never work one of those. I'd go awol before then. If i was working one it'll be just to get on the "inside." to do more harm
um i'm so retarded I cant even figure how to quote people and have my reply underneath.
-
I never claimed to be a medic...I meant never do your job as in end result: dead people.
-
Welcome back Cornkiller1!
So for us civilians; what does EOD stand for?
-
Welcome back CK.
EOD = Explosive Ordnance Disposal

I assume one most learn all components of bomb making to learn how to dispose of one properly.
-
In my previous job we did some work with a us mil subcontractor EODT. Fucking badass former mil guys. I got to meet a few of them. Boy they had some serious stories from Iraq.
-
Good luck and I'm hoping I will go to. If I'm right Fort Sill is Artillery I'm thinking of joining Artillery [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co
