Many many many years ago, MrsMac and I were living on our sailboat in MDR (Marina del Ray) California. During one of our vacations we sailed over to Catalina Island about 30-miles from MDR. We anchored in Cat Harbor which is on the northwest side of the island. Catalina islands claim to fame was it was often used to shoot cowboy movies during the 20's; Consequently, the island has wild horses and bison.
The north end of the island only has one restaurant/bar called the Harbor Reef Restaurant which we ate at one night. Well we closed the bar and as we
walked stumbled back down the trail to a dock where our dingy rested we ran across several bison sleeping on their feet. I whispered to MrsMac, "did you ever tip a sleeping cow?" She giggled and said, "no."
Being appropriately lubricated, I gently walked up to the snoring bison and pushed as hard as I could and sure enough I tipped the critter.
As we ran the rest of the way down the trail to the dock, we heard that bison snorting and expressing her/his annoyance of our stupid act. We laughed and laughed as we motored back to our anchored boat.
Obviously, looking back, I would have never done that had I not drank as many "Buffalo Milk" adult beverages as I did.
