More for the rest of us then? Seems an asinine decision.  [img]http://www.arrse.co.uk/at

So they say the reason is because the USMC's new infantry automatic rifle has tolerances that will not seat some magazines.

Quote
The M27 has unique tolerances in its magazine well that can prevent polymer magazines from seating correctly, resulting in failures. That poses the risk for malfunction should an automatic rifleman share magazines with his squad members during a firefight. Metal magazines are standardized across the Corps? 5.56mm rifles.

This sounds like a H&K personal problem to me. You are telling me that H&K can't make a $2000 rifle for the Corps that seats polymer magazines proprely? Something that even the most basic of civillian ARs can do?

I really can't blame the decision to stick with USGI mags. Weapon compatibility is a big deal in the military.

But a vast improvement would to be to just replace the GI follower with a Magpul no-tilt. They sell them on bases usually. I actually bought all of mine at Parris Island. I believe it was $2.50 for 3 followers.

Wow, what in the world are they thinking?

Fuck the poly mag issue. An HK416 with a bull barrel is replacing the Minimi.. what a fucking joke.

Is it totally blasphemous to say a PKM beats the shit out of the minimi AND whatever HK's latest AR-based abortion is?

M249 blows, my adopted brother had a M249 in Iraq that NEVER worked.
went something like this
