I'm looking to buy a large portion of dried and
storable food. Any suggestions?

Buy a 20lb bag of rice, an air seal-able bag & some hand warmers.

Cut the bag, fill the bag, crack the hand warmers toss them in then seal the bag.

I'd go with http://beprepared.com/ (http://beprepared.com/) I've ordered a few things from them here and there and their customer service has always been good and deliveries on time. May have to deal with some backordering, but it's usually not a bad wait time.

Aside from that you need to learn to can, preserve, dehydrate, and start packing and sealing stuff yourself. There are literally dozens of videos on Youtube with people showing you how. I wouldn't stick to rice as your first item of business though. Beans. No majical fruit jokes about it. They'll carry you a lot farther than a stomache full of rice.

Yeah man, best and cheapest will always be homemade.

Right off the bat, Shamrock Food Stores for beans, rice and lentals. Cosco for Dry Milk and canned goods.

Stew says he was able to get into the LDS cannery on Osuna.. they hook it up.
