D-Day.  June 6, 1944.

Over the next 43 days, until what they call the breakout, 220,000 Allied Casualties, 240,000 German and 50,000 Civilians mostly French.

It needs a notation if not a toast.

It shall get a toast from me.

The beginning of the end. What an unforgettable sight it must have been. Every one of those men who assaulted those beaches were heroes.
