What's wrong with what they do at NFL games? It's a private function, they can set whatever terms for entry they desire.

Pretty much everything else is obviously wrong.

if it's the result of pressure from DHS then it's wrong but if NFL voluntarily requests it then you're right, it's a private function.

The same is true with the DHS at airports.  These facilities are NOT owned or operated by the fedgov and are being forced into conducting these searches.

If the DHS and TSA where done away with, do you really think airport security would change drastically? It could even get more insane. But at least an airline could offer less security, and those who want to fly with less restrictions would have the option, and the market would decide.

I can't imagine an airline ever allowing private citizens to carry on board the way LEOs can. (after only a 4 hour course, how highly trained!)

The same goes for other private events, and locations with tight security.

Remember, the bill of rights doesn't grant anything, only recognizes, and restricts the government, not the private sector.

Is it a good article? yes. But here lately nothing pisses me off more than the title of an article that insinuates that I should fear  this or fear that, or look out for this or that. I long for the day that the Heading of an article reads, "IF YOUR A POLITICIAN OR A COURT APPOINTED JUDGE THAT DOES'NT WALK IN LINE STEP WITH THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES, YOU SHOULD BE AFRAID, BE VERY AFRAID."

They are afraid, and have been for quite some time.

Why do you think they have been pushing for gun confiscation for almost 80 years?

Yes, the very highest up the chain are very well protected in their ivory towers. But your average judge or prosecutor, politician, or other stooge isn't that well protected.

I hear ya Tom, I know they are afraid and I understand the fear that they should rightly have. I just got thinking and hung up on the Title of the article. The fact  that is even a phrase being uttered disgusts me, the thought that freedom loving Americans that stand for liberty and the Constitution should have anything to fear from its government just shows how far down the path we've went. All Im saying is wouldnt it be nice to wake up some day and have the "norm" be exactly the opposite.
