Just a shout out to the forum to let you know that 1000 Meter is in the operating room as I type. He is having his hip replaced which is unheard of for a 42 year old so you know it has to be bad.
He will hate it that I sent out the post as he is kind of a ornery cuss but I am sure he would appreciate any encouragement from the folks on the forum.
Good luck 1000 Meter. Don't forget to do what the surgeon and nurses tell you today post the operation.

I hope he makes a quick recovery, that's a major surgery.
-
Best Wishes an a quick recovery!
-
Best wishes to him, hope the recovery is as quick and pain-free as possible.
-
Someone told him that jumping out of airplanes was a bad thing .....I disagree
Best of luck bro and I recommend lots of clear liquids( vodka, tequlia, rum) and to have to have a young women(18-25) take care of your every need. I also recommend that she be no larger then 120 lbs we don't need any heavy lifting .
All of this is key to a speedy recovery

He should be under the knife now and he'll be in the hospital until Thursday. It's not as major a surgery as it used to be. I've known some guys who've had three. Rough thing he was telling me last night is he was told he won't be able to run anymore after this. He'll be able to do short distances in the case of an emergency, but no more two mile runs. Either way, in about 3 months he'll back to himself. [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co

Just a quick update. He's doing good. He's obviously not happy with all the iv's, plugs, patches, and devices they've got on him, but he's more concerned about getting some grub lol. He did say he was a little pissed when he woke up because he was a lot of pain despite the meds. When I talked to him it sounded like he was running out of steam though. Either that or some drugs kicking in :P
-
Hopefully the meds ^-^

Yeah, he sounded a little rowdy compared to his usual self. The nurses probably sped up his drip to put him to sleep for a bit lol.

1000 Meter Update 2/1/2012
I spoke with 1000 Meter this AM before the chicken were even up. All in all he is doing well but very feisty! As WW mentioned he is not happy being hooked up to all of those "hospital gadgets". He is not happy either, that they will not allow him to go to the head. He has to do his business on the bed which is making him even grumpier. I think it's do to his small size if you know what I mean ;) Maybe we should rename him 100 millimeter.
He also relayed to me a story where a nurse was not too gentle applying an ice pack to his incision site. He was rather annoyed and threw the ice pack at the retreating nurse. :o
All in all he is doing well and is as hungry as a horse (Good sign). I asked him if the grub was good and told me it's better then what he got in the military but not as much. :))
Let's all have a moment of silence for the nurses on 100mm floor.
He gets out Thursday.

JM, "100 millimeter" LMFAO. That's priceless. :P
-
Well the man should be home by now. From what he said he's a little sore, but up an walking around so they released him a little early. Not sure if it was for good behavior or throwing the ice pack :-\ lol.

I'm back guys! Lemme begin by thanking each and every one of you for your well-wishes, I really appreciate it. The procedure itself went as it was supposed to, but they F*CKED up the anasteisha. I was told before the sugery I would wake up numb, but I woke up with excrutiating pain. I got out last night, so I've been home just at 24 hours now. One of the nurses said they never drafted discharge paperwork so fast!!! >:D

I hate to admit it, but yes I was a total pain and actually did throw an ice pack. I'm sore as heck, prolly won't be able to get back to "normal" for a couple of weeks. I told peeps in the hospital I was looking for that anasteisiologist. Once again, thanks for the support everybody! [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co
