Nice, I was going to do a topic like this, but it would easily surpass the maximum character limit.

So I'll just sum up what's going on recently (besides all the usual drive-by's, shootings, stabbings, robberies, burglaries, car jackings, etc...)

If you didn't already know, Cincinnati is primarily a heroin city, unlike most places in which meth is the hard drug of choice.  According to my "word on the street" source, there is a more potent batch of "H" going around recently leaving a trail of O.D.s.  Yesterday, a friend's next door neighbor just O.D.ed and is lying brain dead in the hospital right now... because the other people (family & friends) in the house let the junkie lay on the floor too long before anyone called for help in fear of any investigation.  I'm waiting to see how the legal situation pans out.  The O.D.er has a newborn baby.

Yesterday I saw that our part-time police officer in town pulled over a car with NY plates...haven't a clue as to why. But I was glad...I don't like New Yorkers!

The fire siren went off in the town about 4 or so miles away last night at about 6:00PM.

I heard a knock at my door today at 4:00PM. When I opened the door I scared the UPS driver. I forgot that I was packing [img]http://www.arrse.co.uk/at I guess he's not use to that.

Earlier today while getting fire wood; I heard two shots from over at the next mountain. I 'suspect' a deer shot out of season. Tisk...Tisk.

Sorry but I am not living in a very exciting area.

Oh...Oh I almost forgot...I saw two squirrels doing the nasty in the road. DISGUSTING!  :-[

Wow, you guys got a noon time siren? LOL! We don't even have a traffic light, but I like it that way. Our grocery store has a hitching post for the Amish's horse and buggies though.

We have a flashing four-way stop sign and hitching posts for the Amish too. Funny how my view of where I want to live has changed since my younger days. Prepping with the Amish, now that would be interesting. They probably could prep circles around me, and they got beards already! FML!

The Amish have no reason to 'prep' as we define it. Their lifestyle would not be hugely impacted by a Shtf scenario.

No Amish in the BOL area. Plenty of Quakers and Mennonites though.

My uncle was a Quaker and was VERY anti-war. My earlier education in woodsman ship, hunting, carpentry and other 'manly subjects' came from him and was a foundation of what I know today. When I stayed at his house every summer for a couple of weeks; I use to attend church with him and his family. Men on one side and women the other side of the church.

Now that I think about it, he also taught me how to take care of horses and to ride English. I use to be able to trim and clean horses hooves and worm 'em. Man O' man a flood of memories just rushed into my head...All good.

My favorite Uncle Pat quote is..."A boy out hunting with a rifle is a man. Two boys out hunting with a rifle are trouble and three or more boys out hunting is a disaster waiting to happen."

A very wise man, someday when I feel like typing, I'll have to tell you the story about my buddy Ron, (the one that passed) stopping me from shooting a game warden when we were teenagers out in the winter woods shooting guns. ( Just to be clear, I didn't know he was a game warden. I just thought he was a crazy man, chasing us through the woods. )

Our town is pretty sleepy, a lot of drunk bicyclists (motor vehicles get impounded for DWIs), some prostitutes and meth heads, but mostly good folks.

As a whole though, our state is pretty fucked up, but sometimes in a good way.  I heard on the radio yesterday that two New Mexicans had been arrested for conspiracy to kidnap and castrate the teen pop sensation Justin Beiber.  The men had been hired for $2,500 a piece to do the job by a guy serving a substantial sentence in the prison here.  I love my state!  :))

My wife wears a T-Shirt that has printed on it, "I hunt Tweakers."

When she wears that t-shirt, she often gets comments from guys wearing colors riding motor cycles.

I could but I will not go into details about my past concerning meth and the motor cycle club known as 'The Breed."   [img]http://www.smileydesign.n
