If China invaded the United Sates, they'd get the shit kicked out of them before they even boarded a boat, they the lack the air and sea assets. Even if they had them they would still have to put up a helluva fight against the U.S. military as it stands now. As China continues to rise it will tool up for war and beef up their sea and air forces to protect their interests around the Globe as we do now. If this shit storm of an economy worsens and with the wars coming to an end the U.S. will cut its military in size and funding. If by a snowballs chance in hell Ron Paul gets elected then the U.S. will withdraw from the world giving China free reign of the worlds oceans, ports, straits, canals and resources. No doubt levying tariffs on goods to and from the U.S..
If you want to invade the United States then you need;
1: Take out all military, GPS and commercial satellites not belonging to china or it's allies.
2: EMP's taking out the North American and European continents likely in the guise of a satellite, as well as targeted EMP's to U.S. bases and Nations likely to aid the U.S..
3: U.S. military and equipment bogged down over seas... Hello Persia!
4: Cyber warfare.
5: Special Forces personnel already in place.
6: The land air and sea assets required.
China's military has been preaching to their Officers that war with the United States is an inevitability for over a decade. Most Americans think China can't really harm us because they are across the Pacific and don't have the assets to pull off an attack. Or that we have sooo many guns in the hands of our citizens that China would never dare to try to invade us.
Anyone who thinks China isn't fully capable of invading the U.S.
right now and hasn't formed contingencies to do so hasn't thought a strategy through. You should think like a Chinese General. Not "is it possible" but rather " how do I accomplish the task".
Chinese assets are probably already in place. Four years ago it was reported that there were 30,000 Chinese front companies operating in the U.S. which we were aware of. I'm sure that number has increased now. There are several hundred thousand Chinese nationals working within our borders with our Government's blessing. They also are in the process of building "free trade zones" occupied by Chinese citizens outside of Boise, Idaho and were looking to create additional ones in Pennsylvania and South Carolina as well. To think that Chinese military units and operatives aren't embedded with these individuals, to me, would seem to be foolhardy.
In Mexico they operate a couple of ports that they ship containers to which are then trucked to the U.S. Supposedly, this is to bypass California's expensive port charges. If I remember correctly they also have agreements with Mexico to operate free trade zones there as well. The Chinese also control both ends of the Panama Canal and have extensive numbers of citizens based there as well as oil platforms off the coast of Florida where they have agreements with Cuba to drill for oil. They could also have assistance from their ally Iran's proxie Hezbollah which has training bases and operatives in South and Central America and Mexico.
So how could this play out? If I was a Chinese General this is how I would do it. Create confusion and bewilderment.
When there is an X class flare coming off of the sun striking the Earth I'd begin by setting off an EMP device over the United States placed in an orbiting satellite. This would cause confusion as to what caused the EMP. This would also make American citizens immobile and remove their ability to receive any emergency broadcast information or information of any kind regarding an attack on their country or any combat news.
China already has satellite killers placed in space and has practiced their use. Immediately after the EMP those satellite killers would move against American GPS and communication satellites.
At this same time agents and units already in the country would initiate attacks against military air fields with low yield ground based nukes smuggled into the country. U. S. Army bases would also come under concentrated attack by chemical agents carried by the wind. Agents would signal the status of these bases after the attacks.
Units embedded in the free trade zone outside of Boise would begin assault on the mid west nuclear silos attempting to compromise them or to take out any weapons as the doors opened with explosives or as the launched weapons were initially leaving the silos with shoulder fired rockets. It would not be expected that this would be 100% successful. China has already stated that it is willing to loose all of eastern China. (Is it becoming clear what all of the empty cites in western China and underground bunkers and tunnels are about?) Hawaiian naval bases and airfields would be nuked.
Initial Chinese divisions would be timed to arrive in the ports of Los Angelas, Houston and New Orleans concealed aboard container ships. Divisions would arrive at Brownsville aboard converted Oil tankers scheduled to arrive to offload oil or pickup export gasoline. Divisions would also arrive through Mexican ports and move north into the United States.
The job of a segment these initial divisions would be to secure specific ports and air ports in these areas during the mass confusion of the populas enabling divisions on ships and air liners en route to land.
Divisions would move north in an effort to cut off and secure the western part of the U.S. from the west coast to the Mississippi River. They would avoid large cities (They only have 3 days worth of food to begin with and people in the cities can be removed by chemical agents if need be .) They would blow bridges and secure interstates. They would blow all rail lines.
Any army bases in the west whose staff have not been completely eliminated or severely reduced will be attacked and it's equipment confiscated for use. All NG armories will be attacked and all equipment confiscated.
Chinese troops will continue to arrive until levels are reached allowing a push from the Mississippi to the east coast.
This could all be altered but you get the idea. Don't underestimate what China could accomplish or overestimate how secure we are.
