Just an observation.

I was in Albion, NY this week trying to get a permit for some construction that needs to be done at one of our sites in that town. Throughout the town there are posters prominently posted that it is against town ordinance to video tape or record any town official in the execution of their job.

When I went into the town hall, I had to be buzzed into the town clerks office. In the office the town clerks were partitioned off with bullet proof glass. When I told the receptionest that I wanted to obtain a building permit I had to be buzzed into a foyer and then buzzed in to a hallway that lead to the building inspectors office. Once there I had to be buzzed into his office by his secretary.

When I left and passed through the clerks office I asked them if this was a rough town. The receptionist said, "no...Why?" I told her that I have been through hundreds of small town government building's and I have never seen this kind of security for a town that had about 9,000 people. She shrugged her shoulders and said, "We did this after we got some money from DHS."  [img]http://www.arrse.co.uk/at

Same town now, I am walking to my truck and a police officer was walking down the side walk. Now I know in most municipalities a police officer must wear soft body armor under their blouse but this guy was wearing a vest with sapi plates in it.

TIN FOIL HAT ALERT!
This kind of thing really freaks me out. What is in the cards for the citizens of this town if SHTF.

I think the police in that town have more to worry about when SHTF than the citizens do. then again it IS new york, so they may not be as heavily armed as the areas that I'm used to. we'll see I suppose.

I would bet that allot of cops sit around the squad room asking, Why don't people like cops anymore??????
But I have to say that in the event of a SHTF situation. Its not hard to imagine the people venting allot of their frustration and rage on cops. And I cant think of any one i know who would stand up and help the cops.

But if you look at the streets it wasnt about rodney king,
Its bout this fucked up situation and these fucked up police.
Its about coming up and staying on top
And screamin 187 on a mother fuckin cop.
Its not written on the paper its on the wall.
National guard? ? !
Smoke from all around

Lyrics are also written out below the video in the description.

Everyone needs to know and respect this song.  It wasn't about Rodney King, its about people hating the Police State that the government forces on us, and taking that frustration out on men that protect that evil system.

Do you have your range cards all made out to the pertinent targets and the proper distances from your shooting positions?

Without the support of the NG, it will be open season on anyone in a uniform.  I remember reading stories from the riots of the '60s &'70s where all LE in the affected area were ordered to go plain clothed.

I've always expected, in an all out SHTF situation, most LE with go AWOL after they personally see a few of their brethren die or become seriously injured.  All they will want to do is get back their families.  In other words, I believe LE won't be a factor for long after an all out SHTF.  They may attempt to regroup at a later time depending upon the specific situation ~ Is communications still up?  How many LE are left?  Level of gang activity?

The good officers who are genuinely here to serve and protect deserve our support.  The roid-heads who get sick pleasure from hurting and oppressing people deserve what they get....

Beat me to it.
As bad as it sounds we might not get a chance to support them.
At the end of the day when their *buddies* gear up for the big one, chances are they are going to hop into that
Squad Car/APC/Tank/whateverthefuck right next to them.

I'm sorry, but I'm considering EVERY group that I do not know, A THREAT, unless proved otherwise.  I don't care if they have a shiny badge or certain words on their hat or jacket.  They are a THREAT until proved otherwise and they will be treated as such.

Is it me or does it seem like the 1033 program is a "hit the lottery ticket" for LEOs?  IMHO all of this crap we see them pulling in the media is a result of them trying to field small paramilitary units and not focusing on law enforcement.  Military tactics have no place in the civilian world - they're not designed to minimize collateral damage or taking prisoners and I have yet to have seen a PD or SO with the adequate planning and intel staff to coordinate an operation anywhere near the competency the military does (which sometimes ain't saying much).

Years ago a lot of the higher speed DoD units went to LEO academies and training to learn and practice things like hostage rescue.  Now it seems like it's ass backwards.  Every PD and SO wants their guys trained and equipped like SEALs.
