Why Isn't U.S. MSM Not Covering the Protests In the EU
« on: August 25, 2022, 11:03:25 AM »
I don't know if you have noticed that with winter looming and obvious shortages of heat (Gas, Oil, Coal, Electric, etc) in the EU, there are protests. Some of the protests are by farmers and other unions.

Why isn't the U.S. press, any press, covering these protests?

Here is a possible explanation.

I have always said, that the EU is the canary in the coal mine for the U.S.

I think it has something to do with the word they chose to identify with. PRESS......... Using just the word PRESS allows them to leave off the real names. IMPRESS, OPRESS, DEPRESS, and SUPRESS. :faint:

Here in the UK there have not been any major protests as of yet.

Displeasure with energy and fuel costs soaring is being expressed openly across the whole of society here. There is no repression of reporting at the moment.

In place of protests. Unions across society are striking in demand for increased wages to meet the soaring cost of living. This is in my opinion going to create massive pressure on the government to take action. It is far more effective than street protests could ever be.

As a matter of fact the government and media here have been refreshingly transparent on the issue up to this point here in the UK.

Everyone knows things are bad and getting worse. The politicians know that the government is going to have to do something. They just don't to seem to know what to do as of yet.

The root cause of the situation is that the UK and most of Europe have depended of Russia to supply a majority of what is needed for fuel and energy production. Now we are paying the price.

While it is tempting to assign what is happening at this time to conspiracies in the shadows. Reality is that Europe and the US mismanaged things in Eastern Europe causing Putin to take steps that he believed will safeguard his nation better. Incompetent foreign and domestic policy by all parties have caused the current situation.

Just my take through the lens of what I am seeing in and from the UK.
