When the power goes out
« on: July 16, 2018, 03:16:46 PM »
A while ago I posted about looking (nosing) around the stores in my area to see if they had a backup generator. I got the idea from JohnyMac saying most stores will stay open for four hours if there was a power failure.
I found out our local supermarket has one and it will last for two hours to keep the frozen food frozen. The Walmart superstore I found out today has one but it only can run for 30 minuets. Just enough time to empty the store. They don't seem to be worried about the frozen food, but I'm probably wrong there.
If SHTF and your away from home knowing who has a backup generator may be a life saver.

It is also a good indication of where to go first to top off your supplies.

Even more important to us preppers are gasoline stations. The big trucking stations off the freeways all seem to have big ass generators.
