So today I needed another run in order to get my cardios complete for the week.
But I really really really wasn't in the mood for a run.
Plus it was dark and there are a lot of potholes on my route that a runner might miss in the dark and twist his ankle on especially since cars are around with blinding highbeams.
Soooo... I was very close to leaving it mission incomplete for the week but then I thought of doing it as a ruck march with ym Level IV body armor .
So I broke out my plate carrier threw my loaded ruck on top and went out.
Somehow this seemed easier to get myself out on and in the heat it was a great work out.
So changing it up kept me from missing a workout

Well done, Erick! Have you ever tried Zombies, Run!? It's a smartphone app that has (sort of) interactive story and you can have your own music, too. I use it to motivate me to run. I have to know what happens next. :)

I did! It was okay, but I stopped using it because I suck at running. I might try it again once I've lost a few dozen pounds. Good eating and the gym have already lost me ten pounds in two weeks though. It's just the initial, easily removed "water" or "buffer" weight, but it's a start.

That's wonderful, Rah! I use it for walking all the time. That's how I started running. I still can't run all the way - I do run/walk intervals. As Naomi Alderman says, "if you're moving faster than a shamble, you're Runner 5." Congratulations on your weight loss.

I have.
A couple years ago when I was still in active duty shape :)

Thanks! It's an uphill battle, but I'm making it a lifestyle change not a temporary solution.

Gosh, do I ever know it's an uphill battle! I've been doing this for over a year now, have lost over 100 lbs, and I still struggle hourly with motivation and willpower. We can do it, though! If I ever got caught out away from the house during an emergency I'm sure I could walk home now. I certainly couldn't have before I started this journey. Not to mention how much easier farm & garden chores are now that I'm stronger, have more energy, and way more stamina.

Just went on a four mile bike ride. I love the downhills, but those uphills are killer! I am happy to report that I was able to take some of the hills I couldn't the last time I went for a ride. There were plenty of spots I still have to get off and walk the bike, but I'm getting there.

Another month or 2 and you will be overjoyed  at being able to finish it all on your bike without getting winded. Headache there is you have to find a new route.

FYI I posted on my blog about my weight loss this week. I'm also really happy that I'm on a five day streak of walking the dog for at least half an hour a day. How are you guys doing with your physical fitness?

My wife and I work out four days a week. I go to build up my strength, my wife to loose weight. I see how hard it is for her to loose weight dieting and exercising and her disappointment when she only loses one pound.
I wish you luck and hope you reach and maintain your goal.

Thanks! One pound at a time is the way to do it!
