Title: What will I lose if I reformat my D drive?
Post by: JoJo on February 01, 2018, 01:39:48 PM
Would I lose my favorites? I have a lot of them. What about Photo's? My drive is at 100% and I can't run defrag because of that.
Also How do I uninstall Norton Restore, I didn't have a problem until I uploaded it.

If you're running Windows, depending upon the version go to Control Panel, and then to Programs.  Once you're in Programs you can uninstall Norton, and any other software that you're not using.  If you reformat a drive you're going to lose everything on that drive.  If you're concerned about losing important photos, etc., back them up.  If you're unsure of how to proceed, I suggest contacting BestBuy and using their geek squad services, or a local computer store.

I was afraid that I would have to uninstall Norton and then reinstall it. This happened when I foolishly installed Norton Restore.

Jackalope is 100% accurate. Go to Best Buy and have them back it up or you back it up yourself. If you are unfamiliar with doing these functions BestBuy or a local computer "fix-it" store. It is well worth the $69.95 they would charge.

Be careful with this.  Like they said, you will lose lots of stuff.  But if you hit the wrong buttons you will also lose both parts.  No hard or drive.

Computer stuff is dangerous.  There are bits and bytes and megs and gigs inside just waiting to escape and bring havoc on your lifestyle and life.

I have heard a time or two you could also lose your favorite dog and develop an allergy to hops and peanuts.  So no more Nectar and Ambrosia.
