What Is Coming - Tonight's Monthly MAG Meeting

We had our monthly MAG meeting this evening. The general conscientious was "something is coming down the pike." What we cannot say however, the feeling surrounded around to these general comments,

> The whole dead UK Queen is a distraction and great cover for what is happening today behind the scenes
> World events are pointing to a near future deal
    - Germany nationalizing three Russian Refineries
    - Russia and China talking about a new "world currency"
    - I have been reading today that a Company of Chinese military rolled into Russia controlled Ukraine.
> More and more elites saying publicly, that the economic future is bleak
> Fuel prices starting to inch up
> Inflation is not leveling off
> Supply level in stores are off. One report was 1/3 off in breath and depth
> .Gov handing out free money
> And many many more.

Thoughts?

One thing we all agreed to was to take the next seven days and act as if the stores would be closed by Sept 25th. One thing we all agreed on was to buy 3-months min. of critter food. Chicks, Chickens, Dogs, Cats, pigs, etc.

Is there any confirmation of Chinese troops in the Ukraine?

I cannot see Putin or Xi being that stupid or reckless.

3 month's worth... for the critters.
i established that benchmark a year ago and have about 6 months for the dogs now.  Wife criticizing/faulting every inch of the way.   "Why wasting money like that, we don't need all that dog food stacking up".

oh really?   It is always dated when received, rotated, old used first and looking back, purchased at a significantly lower price than buying today (not to mention, several of the canned Purina products have been "temporarily discontinued").

Objections to laying aside more than is required for "net day shopping" isn't about thrift or prudence.
I believe it is about denial.   Denial that things are sketchy now and looking to get worse.   Some folks just refuse to look around and be objective and honest about what is going on right in front of their eyes.
It's getting cold out.  But pull the covers up a little higher, don't lift a finger to close the window, split more wood or admit that Winter is coming...

Perhaps people won't have to watch their pets starve to death.   Haven't we seen reports of dogs and cats going scarce when people get hungry enough too?
