Let's play a game.
What if.....
It's 8 pm and an emergency broadcast breaks in on both TV and radio channels, instructing residents in your area to report to a location for unknown reasons. You decide not to go and 2 hours later you get a call from a neighbor that there are lots of uniformed men in the area with weapons, going from house to house.
What is your next move?
-
Get out of dodge.
or
if too old to flee, ambush the (obvious) bad guys.
-
Prepare for them.
-
Ambush the bastards.
If it was just me I would bug out but due to my wife's health we would have to stand and make life miserable for the "uniformed people" coming my way.
Hopefully you and your group already have a plan for such a situation.
-
I would close an extra door or 2, let them do their looking around and come out in a bit a watch them go further up the road.

Retreat out of the house to the prepared area and watch until they are gone. If they head toward the prepared area, well...... ::)

I seriously doubt any of us has the hardware to defend our home against military forces with body armor, automatic weapons and MRAP vehicles.
The only thing you can be sure waiting for them at home is that you and your family are going to be killed or imprisoned.
Best bet is to flee the area and choose when and where to fight.
Picking your fights is the MAIN KEY for a successful guerrilla/resistance force.
-
By the way, I really liked the idea of throwing random scenarios and thinking what would you do, just like role playing.
Do we have everything set up and ready to act the way we think we would?
-
I have yet to see body armor that can stop a 690 gr bullet.

I would love to watch what can you and your 690gr bullet do against this:

Maybe I was not understood. I would go down in the cave, close the hidden door and watch the yard and inside areas of the house on the video. Once the area was clear, I would come out.

My reply wasn't addressed to anyone specifically.
You have a bunker at home, that's sweet man, and very handy too, because fleeing has its dangers too, probably there would be an area lock down if something like that happens, so staying hidden it's a great strategy.
-
Not worried about the vehicles, they won't fit through the door.
-
My first thought would be begin immediate info gathering and recon during the two hours prior to the door to door. Find out as much as I could, and make a decision whether to stay and fight, stay and hide, temporary bug-out, permanent bug-out, or some other decision based on the available intelligence.
