I acquired a solar oven today.  The manufacturer had a scratch and dent sale, so I bought one because the price is reasonable.  I've used them before, and I've had good luck with them.  Did some inventory of food and equipment too, just in case things go south on inauguration day.

Not just today but this past week and 1/2. Wind storm blew down a neighbors 75ft tree into my yard and crushed my boat trailer, I took the boat off of it for the winter or it would be trash by now.
Hired a contractor to remove it and five other trees that were to close to the house. The smallest being 50ft tall. Now I don't have to worry about fire and wind storms. Had my Ruger Mark II repaired and bought some gun cleaning supplies.

Not sure this counts, but I traded my Sig SP2022 in towards a M&P9c with Trijicon HD night sights. Essentially, I switched a bulky full-size pistol, that was very difficult for me to conceal in warm conditions without looking conspicuous, for a small, compact pistol that can be easily concealed at the waist, or even on my ankle. Won't be sacrificing capacity, either. Standard mag is 12-rd, which is 3 rounds fewer than the Sig's 15 rd capacity, but the full size magazine (which also fits into the compact) holds 17 rds. So about even when carrying, and 2 extra rounds at home.

Next kicker will be to get enough range time to be comfortable with it. I've done enough dry firing to be pretty sure I'm getting an upgraded trigger/spring kit from ATEi.

Rah not sure what you are getting from ATEi. I have a number of M&Ps including full ATEi packages. For a trigger for that blaster go the Apex route. You will be super happy with the results.

You are 100% correct. I meant an Apex LEO/Duty complete trigger replacement.

I was thinking of having ATEi do some slide work, which is probably why I was confused.

They don't do NP3 coating though, so I don't know if I'm going to use them. Nickel Boron coating isn't as reliable long term, from what I'm reading.

Makes sense.  I like ATEi's work. Also take a look at Wetwerks and Jaegerwerks, they both do nice work on M&Ps. If yo want a really durable finish also look at Black Nitride/ DLC coating. It holds up really well. I generally just stick with cerakote as I am tough on my guns and re-coating is easy enough. For general holster wear and EDC it holds up fine. For send, dirt, hard wear I like DLC.

Rah, cooool!

The insurance company said I was covered but didn't say if the tree removal was. I'll keep you informed.

Finally took the plunge and started doing Krav Maga. I forgot how intense it is. After the first session I had to pull over and throw up on the side of the road, my system just wasn't used to the shock. Day 2 and 3 I had to arrive early and sit in the truck psyching myself up because every fibre of my being was telling me to quit but 2 weeks in and it's starting to go better. It feels really good to be reminded that I'm not made out of glass.

Added an extra week worth of water. Our dams are now down to approximately 15% usable water (about 13% down from last month). If we don't get rain soon we're in trouble. Farms and factories have already begun letting people go since they've been forced to reduce production and it's just getting hotter and dryer, even though it's technically Autumn. I don't do well in the heat, not quite sure how much more I can handle.

thanks, we need all the prayer we can get.

I received a check from my insurance company for the fallen tree that landed on my boat trailer. It paid for the tree removal and totaled my trailer.
Everything worked out fine.
I've been sharpening my knives today and now I can shave with them. My father taught me how to shave with a straight razor when I was sixteen but I'll leave the knives alone and use a safety razor, yeah I'm scared.

.   .   .  , yeah I'm scared.

scared, scarred or some of both?

You know what they say-- when you use a straight razor you gotta hold a gun on yourself to make you go through with shaving with it

Bought 20 rolls of TP, large box of contractors plastic bags and add one more DAK canned ham to my supply. Also picked up another 72hr emergency food  package. Now my BO bag for my wife and I is complete.

OOPS forgot last week I picked up some fish meds. Amoxicillin, Penicillin and Ampicillin

Went to a gun show Saturday.  A big un for sure.  Wife has been talking about a new wheelgun 38 and or 357 for her her first one to call her own and getting CWP.  We made sure pennies were squeezed to get one.   We had been to a couple stores and she really liked the Ruger SP101 as far as size, weight, grip size and style and all that.  I had a line on a used purchase of one reportedly clean as new with the 3" barrel.  Price would have been right about $500 in my door

However at the show we came upon a clean as new and easily mistakable as new Charter Arms Pug 357 with the 2.2 barrel.  Stainless and sweet, basically NIB clean and with all box, docs and everything.  It fit her hand better than the 101 and she really like it, but still wants a set of wood grips.  IMD price was $260.

Went to the store this afternoon and had to take a Pug out for a walk. I really like that rascal.  Ain't a thing wrong with a 5 round 357.  Matches the Charter Arms Undercover 38 I bought my mom 35 years ago and repossessed when she went on to her great reward.

Many moons ago MrsMac was looking for her EDC. After trying out hundreds (No lie) she settled on the Ruger SP101 hammerless wheel gun in .357 Mag.

She loads it with .38 Spl. rounds not the .357 Mag rounds though. She is deadly at 20' or less.

That Ruger is what we were seriously looking for/at when she ran across the Charter Arms.

And yes, I am going to have to work her up to hot 38 loads.  She has never fired anything more that a 22mag.  She did not realize it was mag because I had sneaked the cylinder change in the Ruger Single Six on her.

She did fire a 380 Taurus 738 one time (and only once) because she really did not like the recoil and muzzle blast.

This one will be interesting to get used to.  Starting her with 3.2 grains of Titegroup pushing a hand cast 125gr RNFP lit by Winchester Small Pistol primers.

She will finish with Gold Dot 38sp 135gr JHP for SB wheelguns and that will be EDC round.  Then we can get her shooting some big boy rounds.  5.9gr of the Titegroup pushing 158JHP or hard SWC.
