I wouldn't turn my nose up at some cheap Russian gear either. We haven't made anything decent here since the 80s and that stuff is hard to find.

Been thinking of asking everyone here if they might be interested in any of the stuff I can get ahold of.

I buy in bulk so the prices are pretty darn cheap.

If anyone is interested I can post some links to some of the wholesalers I buy from.

I will however post now one of the deals that I jumped all over.

Genuine Army / Military Bandages Single Packs.

Come In Boxes of 80.

Each Pack Is a Complete Set With Safety Pin, Dressing, Bandages.

In Brand New / Un-Issued Condition.

 £18.50 / 80 piece(s)
Price excluding VAT plus shipping

OK... good input there.

I have access to a huge amount of stuff over here. That includes military surplus vehicles.

I REALLY need to figure out how to open up this market to you all.

I will look into it and get back to you.

I would be interested in a couple good pack kits.  I have a couple good backpacks that would be good for a week or 3 in the woods but I am hunting a good Alice pack type thing.

The bandage thing you noted would be good but I would only want maybe 10 of the pack.  80 is more than I would realistically need of that type thing.

A couple good ponchos and such also.  I will be keeping a close eye on this.  And thanks in advance!

I'm with Nemo, I might go for 10 of those bandages and am also looking for ponchos.. light weight ponchos.

Nemo, USGI backpacks are the worst.. literally the worst.

Thats what I have heard.  I am looking more for something along that line and more of a pack than a ruck.

Hiya,

No these are ex soviet block field bandages. Much like the old US Field bandage.

An item of note though is that this bandage has two pads. One fixed and the other slides down the bandage wrap. The design allows for this bandage to c
cover both entry and exit holes.

I hope that made sense.

After Christmas I may buy a case or two extra to see if I can do some deals for the members here.

On the subject of Backpacks - I personally use my ALICE Pack I kept from my Army time. The ex-british Army on is pretty darn good though.

You say this the day after I realized that I misplaced my spare tire during my recent move to our new house.

Well here is my prepping for today.

I painted my 1998 Vauxhall Frontera flat black.

I communicated to me Real Estate Agent in NY about some interest in my 56 Acres of homesteading land we are selling.

Even better I have been following a Russian BTR-60 Armored vehicle for sale here in the UK.

Oh GOD, forget the dream of a classic Trans Am.

I  REALY want a BTR-60

RIGHT ON Jojo!

Everybody should have one months worth of cash hidden. If you can't afford one month in one chuck; put aside $20- a week till you reach your goal.

Went to the Post Office the other day to buy stamps. I pulled out my Debit card and the teller told me that the line was down and she could not accept a card. I asked, "surly you have back-up procedures for when this happens."

She looked at me like I had two heads.

I went on to say, "I have managed retail stores and we always had a plan "B" for when this happens. Are you telling me that you don't?"

She went on to explain to me that they will still take cash and that the post office was part of the government and NO they had no procedures for this type of a malfunction.

I left, went across the street to a cash machine. Walked back across the street to the post office and bought my book of stamps.

What can we all learn from my little experience?

PS: The Post Office hasn't been part of the government for 20 or so years. Doesn't she know who her bosses are?

Thats why I carry Franklin folded up tight and in a very dark spot in my wallet.  He is my emergency.  I used to keep a Grant, 2 Jacksons and a Hamilton but they did not really stay in that dark spot easy and kept creeping out for things overbudget.  Franklin likes to hide there though.  Alot harder to get him out.

Mrsninja is an awesome prepping partner but she can't comprehend my obsession with keeping a few grand in small notes stashed all over the place but I like to have a safety net that can be easily broken up.

I installed the Volquartsen auto bolt release and the extended magazine release in my Ruger 10/22. Simple modifacations and I didn't even take the scope off.
